We had the good fortune of connecting with Maia Sylba and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maia, what do you attribute your success to?
The foundation of my brand’s success rests on a deep and passionate connection to the world of art. It’s a blend of imagination, emotion, and unwavering dedication that drives me forward. Each piece of work, every artist I feature, is part of a broader mission to not only display art but to celebrate the stories, emotions, and lives that inspire it.

My journey with Musetouch has always been guided by more than just a personal ambition to succeed. At its core is a profound desire to make a difference in the lives of artists, giving them the platform and recognition they need to thrive. I believe that art has the power to change the world, to bring beauty and inspiration into our lives, and my goal has always been to ensure that the voices behind this art are heard and celebrated.

Musetouch is not just about showcasing art; it’s about building connections between artists and the world. Over the years, I had the privilege of presenting not only emerging talents but also some of the most respected and influential names in the art world. These precious names have graced our platform, contributing to a rich tapestry of artistic expression that bridges generations and styles.

By featuring both new and established artists, Musetouch creates a dynamic dialogue within the art community. This approach has allowed us to highlight the diversity and richness of the art world, offering our audience a unique perspective on both contemporary and classical works. It’s this commitment to showcasing a broad spectrum of talent that sets Musetouch apart and has been a significant factor in our success.

Moreover, my passion for helping others extends beyond the art itself. It’s about supporting the artists as individuals—helping them navigate the often challenging path to recognition and success. I’ve always believed that when artists succeed, we all benefit. Their success enriches our culture, inspires our society, and brings beauty into our everyday lives.

In essence, the success of Musetouch is rooted in a combination of artistic passion, hard work, and a commitment to helping others. It’s about more than just building a brand; it’s about making a lasting impact on the world of art and ensuring that both new and established artists have the platform they need to shine. This vision of connecting people with art, and artists with recognition, is what continues to drive Musetouch forward.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey with Musetouch Visual Arts Magazine is deeply rooted in emotions, love, and an unyielding passion for art. What began as a playful escape from reality—a way for me to feel free and express myself—has evolved into a serious and dedicated magazine. Initially, this endeavor was a personal project, driven by sheer enjoyment and a desire to connect with art on a profound level. I never set out to become a professional in the art world; it simply happened organically. This serendipitous path is what sets me apart from others in the industry.

Unlike many who approach the art world with structured business goals, my involvement with Musetouch has always been guided by my heartfelt feelings and an innate love for art. I wasn’t driven by profit or a desire for recognition; I was simply drawn to the beauty of art and the stories behind it. My approach was, and still is, more about paying homage to art with the innocence and wonder of a child. This genuine passion is what has shaped the magazine and made it resonate with people.

Of course, the journey has not been without its challenges. There were moments of intense self-doubt, times when the weight of negative feedback felt overwhelming. I faced periods when I wanted to give up, when the emotional toll was too much to bear. Each harsh critique and every discouraging comment cut deeply because I was emotionally invested in my work. My vulnerability made every setback feel personal and painful.

Yet, through these hardships, I learned to become more resilient. I developed a stronger focus on my mission and on the core purpose that drives me: to showcase the beauty of art and share the stories of the artists behind each piece. These challenges, while difficult, have only reinforced my commitment to my vision. I have grown into a fighter for my own dreams, learning to navigate the complexities of the art world with renewed determination and focus.

I want people to understand that my work with Musetouch is not driven by personal gain or financial success. Instead, it is fueled by a higher purpose—a deep, abiding love for art and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to the art community. People can sense when someone’s motives are pure and when their efforts are genuine. My goal has always been to connect with others through my love for art, and I believe I have achieved that. The emotional investment and sincerity with which I approach my work are palpable, and this authenticity is what has allowed Musetouch to thrive and make a lasting impact.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve always had a deep-seated affection for certain places—old castles, historic villas, and especially abandoned locations. These are the kinds of places I often refer to as having a ‘soul.’ To me, they offer a unique kind of sanctuary. There’s a peacefulness about them, coupled with a hint of mystery, that feels like stepping into an alternate reality—a parallel dimension untouched by negativity, filled instead with pure joy and a sense of wonder.

My connection to these spaces goes beyond mere fascination; they resonate with me on a profound level. They evoke a sense of belonging and serenity that I don’t find anywhere else. It’s as if these places hold stories and secrets that whisper to my soul, making me feel at home.

I also have a deep love for nature, which complements my affection for these historic sites. I cherish spending my free time in natural settings—whether it’s wandering through serene forests or sitting beside tranquil bodies of water. One of my favorite spots is the River Danube. This river is incredibly significant in my life, as it was a beloved place of my father, who passed away when I was just 21. The Danube holds a special place in my heart not only because of the childhood memories I have associated with it but also because of the emotional connection I maintain with it as a tribute to my father.

When I have the chance, I love to share these places with friends. I’d guide them through these enchanting sites, regaling them with the stories, legends, and mysteries that make each location unique. Our explorations would be accompanied by simple, yet delightful, moments—like enjoying a small cup of tea and some cookies, pink ones, reminiscent of those favored by Marie Antoinette, one of my favorite historical figures.

These outings are not just about visiting beautiful places; they are about creating a peaceful yet engaging experience. I aim to make the journey both relaxing and thought-provoking, filled with the kind of stories and atmosphere that spark the imagination and touch the heart.

Additionally, I am an avid reader and a lover of grand, larger-than-life stories. Books that transport me to different worlds or offer a glimpse into extraordinary experiences fascinate me. They provide a sense of adventure and wonder that perfectly complements my passion for exploring and sharing the beauty of the world around me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout primarily to my mother Magdalena, who has been my biggest supporter all my life, a person who is in love with art and has passed that love on to me. I want to thank my brother Dejan, who is an important part of our small team, the person who deals with the technical part of everything, our website, magazine, social media, and without him Musetouch would not function or even exist. Likewise, I would like to thank all the artists I have ever presented, and most of all Nicole Romine, my dear friend, a person with a beautiful soul and enormous creative energy, and especially my dear friend Luc Martineau, an incredibly humane man, a wizard of art and a master of colors, who supports, cheers in the most difficult moments and is my great strength regarding the creation of this magazine and my entire creative vision. Thanks everyone.
