We had the good fortune of connecting with Makayla Did and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Makayla, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think it plays a huge role! I think success is always on the other side of fear and you don’t know if you’re good at something or not if you don’t take the risk of trying!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I always like to tell people I am an entertainer simply because I like to participate in ALL aspects of the entertainment world! No journey is ever easy, but I’ve had a great time so far. I started taking vocal lessons at 13 and have been taking them ever since, and then I went to a performing arts high school, so I got to expand my talents there as well. But I’ve always sang and I’ve always wanted to act. Throughout all of my experiences in the arts and in my work I have learned that remaining authentic works best for me as well as remembering my goal and remembering the things that I want out of life! There’s an undeniable fire that burns inside me for entertaining and I refuse to ever put it out!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so many parts of LA to visit, and it always depends on the person coming to visit. But I always love Santa Monica Pier, Take a photo in front of Randy’s Donuts, drive through downtown LA on the 101 S at night only! I always like to visit amusement parks. I also think the Fairfax Flea Market is cool!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom! She is literally my best friend! She has EVERYTHING to do with my story, my success, and just who I am as a woman today.
