We had the good fortune of connecting with Manuel Fuentes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Manuel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
How I think about risks is more of an all or nothing type of mentality. My vision always has been to pursue an artistic career path and I understand the difficulty of it. This risk has taken me to meet my idols I use to watch on my phone screen, it is the surreal moments I’ll never forget.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I’m most proud of in my career was taking a leap of faith and trusting in acting. I’ve got to where I am today by joining Facebook groups who were requesting talent to be part of small projects during COVID-19. I got my start by being part of the Super Pumped series starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a background actor and made connections from there. It was not easy to be where I am today because the consistency of the work can be scarce. The lessons I learned is to always be humble and not act you’re cooler than anyone else because there will always be someone to put you in your place. The world should know I got potential to break norms within the industry whether it’s my looks, talent or how I carry myself, it’s something you’ve never seen before.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh my where do I start! If you were visiting LA for a week I’d take you to Malibu and their beaches are really beautiful, especially at night since you see all sorts of things in the sky. We’d have to visit Dockweiler beach, Venice beach, Santa Monica pier and Long Beach. Also, visit the Hollywood Sign, museums, go on hikes, eat LA street tacos such as Birreria Gomez (best birreria tacos). Can’t forget the nightlife as we can go to bars in Downtown like La Cita or go to West Hollywood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A shoutout I want to give are my family, girlfriend and my girlfriend’s family. They have all supported me in their ways that’s given me a new perspective to endure my career. Whether I have my highs or lows they see it’s always possible to make it in life. They give me the spark to continue.
