We had the good fortune of connecting with Marie Wilde and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marie, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Hi Ravinah! Thank you for having me. If something is eating you up inside, you should see it through. No one is safe from facing internal struggles. Although I receive positive feedback and believe in my abilities, things take time so I have to continue if I want to see the results. Regardless of how frustrated, confused, or difficult it may feel, I will see it through. Giving up would be nonsensical; it wouldn’t make sense not to work.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I place a strong emphasis on authenticity; I believe that beyond talent, being true to myself is what sets me apart. While skill is important, one’s essence cannot be easily replicated. My journey to this point has been driven by passion and creativity. Any success I’ve achieved has been a result of preparation and persistent effort. The path has not been easy, and it’s an ongoing effort. Taking time for myself, resting, and clearing my mind are vital. It’s about maintaining a mindset of perseverance. Having a therapist has also been invaluable, providing a non-judgmental space to express myself. Two key lessons I’ve learned are that progress can happen silently, and that even if someone doesn’t reach out directly, they may still be observing and aware.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Broad is a good place to bring a friend or even go solo. This museum is immersive so that makes an even better experience that will have you busy for hours. Another is the Arboretum in Arcadia, they have beautiful gardens and peacocks roaming freely. A good option for friends or alone time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to express my gratitude to both my business partner and manager. My partner has been an immense source of support and assistance in navigating this industry. As for my manager, she recognized my potential even when I had less experience, and we’ve grown together since then. I’ve been fortunate to receive amazing audition opportunities because of her. 15
