We had the good fortune of connecting with Marissa Rey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marissa, why did you pursue a creative career?
We chose an artistic career because it aligns with our soul. It gives us freedom to create, opportunities to connect with other artists, and allows us to become who we are meant to be. There are no boundaries to what you can create; the freedom to be connected with our soul and the collective are our reasons for creating.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We create experiences for the artistic soul. We love setting up fun, unique environments for our creative community to gather and listen to upcoming musicians and producers. We invite artists to sell their artwork and culinary artists to prepare the night’s meals. When you come to a Future Soul show, you’re coming to a unique, memorable experience.
Every time we host a Soul Sesh or release a creative project, we’re expanding our genres, adding new elements, and creating something larger than the last.
We’re so excited about the community we’ve attracted to our shows! See what goes down at Soul Sesh here:) -> https://youtu.be/lF0gHcFPgfQ
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
On Sunday, we’ll watch the sun rise in San Bernardino National Forest. We’ll start the morning with positive affirmations and drinking 9.0 alkaline water to keep us hydrated. We’ll use this day to relax, dance, stretch, and have a acoustic jam session towards the night.
During the week, we’ll host two photoshoots — one in the desert (preferably Joshua Tree) and another at the local park. We’ll be at the park during the other days of the week to enjoy a tea party and picnic with our dogs. After being outdoors and enjoying the sunshine, we’ll visit a thrift store to score some unique finds.
During the weekend, we’ll go to an event to support our local artists. We’ll be dressed up all cute and eat tacos with the artists towards the end of the night. After their performance and eating tacos, we’ll sing and dance the night away. We’ll invite the artists to our next Soul Sesh or Park Series Episode. 🙂
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to shoutout Kalum Vaughns, the first person we met while networking. We wanted to showcase our brand with a booth, but he offered us much more! He offered us his office space to host our first event, Soul Sesh. He was the first to believe in our dream and offer us the opportunity to begin.
The San Bernardino community also deserves a shoutout for trusting in our vision and being a great help in our development. We appreciate the people who offered their space for our shows and knowledge for growing our platform.
