Hi Mark, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
If what you’re doing makes you happy, then you have succeeded

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The Live Band Karaoke show came about as an Evolution of how so many other musicians or bands started.
I Started banging around in the garage with some high school buddies who were able to scrape together some drums, guitars, and amplifiers.
We all thought putting a band together would get us chicks.
As time went on and the lineup progressed, we started writing our own songs and had dreams of making it big.
After years of playing original music and never getting signed to a record deal, I started putting cover bands together because I still loved playing music and thought I could make some money doing it.
My vision of a cover band always consisted of a hottie female fronting the band.
As time passed, I found that I had learned quite a few songs. Due to the fact that I had worked with a lot of singers. Each one coming in with a new list of pop songs that they like to sing or do best.
When karaoke first came onto the scene and bars started doing karaoke nights. Live music suffered. People loved it, and it was cheaper for the bars to hire one karaoke host as opposed to a 3, 4 or five piece band. So getting gigs got harder to find.
One day I read in the paper (Before the Internet) about a band in New York that was going to bring their “Live Band Karaoke” show to Las Vegas.
I thought to myself that that band must really know a lot of songs. Then the lightbulb went off, and I thought to myself, hey I know a lot of songs.
At that time I was gigging and Booking a small bar in North Hollywood called The Studio Suite. So I turned my cover band called O FeeL Ya into a Karaoke Band and started doing Live Band Karaoke every Wednesday night. That was 16 years ago.
Since then my band “Live Band Karaoke LA” has played all over The Los Angeles County and a couple other neighboring counties.
It’s been a very successful run. I have had shows run 1 to 4 years at some bars, clubs and restaurants. As well as private parties and corporate events.
For a long time there was only my band and one other karaoke band in LA and another one working Riverside and Orange County. Today, there are several working all over.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Currently, my live band karaoke show is running Every other Saturday at The Fox And Hound in Studio City and The Pocock Brewery every other Friday
You can check with the venues for actual dates and times.
You can also search Live Band Karaoke for other bands now doing the same thing. It’s everywhere.
