We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlon Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marlon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Celestial Wedding Officiants was born from the need to provide completely customized wedding ceremonies. After witnessing numerous wedding ceremonies, where the couple’s disconnect to their officiant was nearly tangible, I wanted to provide an opportunity to tell the couple’s story and believes through a well composed ceremony. Simultaneously, filling the void of Bilingual services, English/Spanish, making an eco of inclusiveness. In a couple, both partners are distinct individuals. Some with different cultural backgrounds, religious/spiritual believes, personalities, and even family dynamics. I felt there was a need to meet with the couple, ask the right questions, get to know them, and therefore write a ceremony that binds their beautiful qualities. A ceremony that represents only the two of them and their love story. When it comes to marriage, there is no way a template shall convey a personalized message.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Celestial Wedding Officiant has been growing on educational ground. I got to where I am today, business-wise, by always being open to learning new things. Educating myself about matters that will benefit my business growth and enrich costumer experience. Expanding my understating and relatability towards the couple’s needs, and always respecting their reasons for their ceremony. I am most proud about the receptiveness I’ve had across all communities. Couples come to me from all walks of life, economic standing, races, believes, and I’ve been able to sustain positive reviews across the spectrum. The journey hasn’t been easy, I‘ve had to learn and craft my knowledge through the years. Within my business model, is not a matter or difficulty, is about adapting your services to someone’s specific needs and delivering outstanding results. The one lesson I’ve learned along the way is that everyone’s foundation of a ceremony is different. As a professional wedding officiant, responsible for marrying hundreds of couples, I’ve come to understand and respect everyone’s way of love. Everyone has different needs for their ceremony, from the surface it might seem as if everyone if looking for the same thing, but they’re not. After reading this interview, I would like the world to know that my brand, Celestial Wedding Officiant, has orchestrated on caring grounds. That respect and equality is the motor that keeps it moving forward.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is submerged in a beautiful sea of diversity. One of my favorite places to visit would be the Griffith Observatory. Having lunch at Fígaro Bristrot, and after watching a movie at El Capitan theater, concluding a fun night with a sweet treat at The House of Pies, in Los Feliz. Spending a day in Universal Studios, and even an overnight trip to Catalina Island would also be a refreshing dip of the California coast.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Two great individuals who gave my business a positive jumpstart are Morine Bartley, who made possible my first opportunity as a wedding officiant, and Rev. Edward Brown who served as an outstanding mentor.
