Meet Marquez Tuck | Christian Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquez Tuck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marquez, what are you inspired by?
One thing that really inspires and drives me to continue to create is uniqueness. As a Christian content creator, I recognize that many people are doing very similar things to me on the same platform as me and also other platforms such as TikTok or YouTube. Which is why I truly love seeing people step outside of the box and do things that are not Commonly done. Whether this uniqueness is expressed through the clothes they wear and how they style them or whether it’s someone’s diverse approach to music I always love to see people do things that are unconventional or outside of the norms of society. As Christians we are called to be set apart and I feel like that’s the main reason I really am inspired by people who go against the grain because it is one of the core mindset of my belief. Seeing people create in a way that stands out is what inspires me continually to keep creating. I don’t wanna remake or re-create something that’s already been done, I feel the most gratified when I make videos that I know weren’t just copy and paste it from someone else. Even if they don’t get as much recognition, views, and likes, those are the videos that I’m the most proud of. God has created us to be creative, of course, to be inspired by other people, but to do things that have never been done before and instead of following trends, all the time, being trendsetters.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Even though, I am very passionate about my content creating for Jesus this is not yet my full-time profession. I have recently graduated college for electrical engineering and I’m currently looking for a full-time apprenticeship as an electrician. Over the course of my program, there were a few challenges that I did have to face such workload, as well as balance between my different courses within the program. Although much focus and networking amongst classmates was a great key to my success, the main contributor to my success in this electrical program was definitely prayer. There definitely were times when I felt overwhelmed and as if I wasn’t going to be able to complete all the task set before me, but prayer reminded that God has everything in control and he definitely proved that because I finished the program about a week prior to completing this interview and I received honour roll every semester of the program. I am now waiting on the confirmation that I received it for my last semester. My main take away from the entire program was just to do your best and God will do the rest. It sounds simple, but without that mindset, I wouldn’t have succeeded.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Although Ajax Ontario is pretty quiet, but as someone who has lived here but most all of my life I think I have a pretty good idea of a great week for anybody. For a more casual eat, I would bring my friend to probably the most underrated food spot in my opinion called Tropical Delight Eatery. It’s mainly Jamaican cuisine, which is my background but I truly believe that there’s something there for everyone to love. If you’re looking to go out to a nice dinner, there is a place proximately three minutes from my church called Portly Piper that would undoubtably be my favourite restaurant in my city. For drinks I would definitely have to go with bubble tea as it’s probably one of my favourite drinks which would bring us to Chatime or Coco, depending on the specifics of what kind of drink you’d want. I would consider myself someone who absolutely loves church and it would definitely have to be on the list of places we go, of course my home church , Refuge City Pentecostal church. For hanging out you’d usually find me at one of my friends house, but if it was more of a public get together I would definitely recommend Audley recreational centre or as most people call it the ARC. it’s a great place for sports, games or just if you wanna hang.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Before I say anyone, I would not be alive or able to be in this position without my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Without him there is no Marquez Tuck, which is why I have to shout him out above everyone else. Next on the list, I would definitely say my church family, I’ve gotten the best advice and have developed the most loving and genuine friendships at the church I attend: Refuge City Pentecostal Church in Ajax Ontario. These are people that are without a doubt my family and I wouldn’t be the same without. There’s too many of them to name, but I have so many brothers and sisters from that church that I’m just so thankful for.
