We had the good fortune of connecting with Marsella Reyes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marsella, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is literally the only way I have managed to pave the road to my success. I have realized that taking those leaps of faith shows the universe I truly believe in myself and that tends to set off a vibration that comes around full circle. Any life-changing opportunities were 100% backed up by taking risks.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is Better Body by Mars, along with my ow personal brand “Marsella Reyes”. My most proud moment in building my training business was releasing my virtual bootcamps back in November of 2019, before the pandemic began and virtual everything became huge. I managed to pack up to 30+ people in classes during the first few months of covid! I am most proud of the grit I carry for my brand and business. I’m very dedicated to accomplishing a task no matter what it takes, and most of the time the tasks are not easy at all. I manage to do everything on my own, and it tends to get overwhelming. When I reach that point, I take a step back to reassess my thoughts and I ask myself what is in my control and what is not. From there, I take the things I can control and manage their priority levels. At that point, all I can do is take one thing at a time, especially if I want to deliver my services with 200% efforts and not spread myself thin. It’s also a humbling thought process because it helps me put certain things aside that I love to do or is considered important (such as my own training) in order to accomplish that goal. Sometimes you have to sacrifice things that are important to you or things you desire in order to be more efficient in a single task. Because of the grit I carry for everything I do, it has provided me the strength, faith and courage I need to be successful. The opportunities and blessings I have received since have been unfathomable. Biggest lesson I have learned? Don’t be afraid to do what you love with passion and share it with others. Even when it doesn’t make sense to anyone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Arts District in DTLA is super dope. So much to see just by foot and great people watching. I also love the beach towns of Santa Monica and Long Beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There were an array of “self-help” books that helped me obtain the success I have today. A good 75% came from the author Ryan Holliday. The one book that changed my life was called “The Obstacle is the Way”. In addition to the books, my best friends & family have always supported me every step of the way, even when it didn’t make sense! But at the end of the day, I always managed to be my own biggest cheerleader.
