We had the good fortune of connecting with Martha Robles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Real estate has been my career for the last 14 years. I built a book of business by helping people get into homeownership. My clients trust that I will be honest with them, even if that means telling what they don’t want to hear. I will fight for them not just for the transaction. They know they can come to me for things outside of real estate as well. They call me for recommendations to vendors. From dishwasher repair to AC inspections to roof repair. In our community trust is everything and they have learned that I will not recommend someone that I do not trust. I have made it a point to surround myself with third party partners that speak the language or are about the client, like I am. This was not easy in the beginning. I was doing most of the translating for my clients with all the vendors involved in our transaction.
Again it was not easy, but standing firm on wanting companies to hire Spanish speaking reps or sales people has paid off. They wanted my business and that gave me leverage.
Now the escrow company, home inspection company, termite, septic, lenders, credit repair company – can all help my clients directly and in their language. These companies are also ones that have proven over and over that they can be trusted to take care of my clients rather than take advantage.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow – this one is a bit tougher for me. I would definitely start with a trip to the wineries in Temecula. South coast winery, Wilson Creek, Miramonte Wineries would be at the top of the list. I would be sure to make a reservation at the Mission Inn – Las Campanas. I would make sure they enjoyed Old Town Temecula’s night life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are definitely a few people along the way that have offered encouragement, support and a reality check when needed! First I want to absolutely shout out my mother. She came to California, having no family or support system of any kind. She did not know the language or the customs and still managed to take 5 girls and raise them to always push forward. Without her sacrifice – she could have thrown in the towel and returned home to her family – I would not have had the opportunity to try so many avenues before landing in real estate. Her sacrifice has made it so that I have been able to help most of my sisters into home ownership and pave the way for my family to see entrepreneurship as a real possibility. We came from immigrant parents, we were the kids that churches gave clothes and food to, the kids in school that didn’t have what everyone else had. I came out of that and set myself on a path of success. Now everyone sees success in a different way – I am not rich in money by any means, but my riches are in the relationships I have nurtured and lifelong clients that refer me business on a continuous basis.
