Meet Marti Elliott | Furniture Refinisher & SAHM

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marti Elliott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marti, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Having my own business was the main step into be able to stay at home with my kids, but still have a source of income.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always been a tinkerer. As a kid I used to take apart radios and other gadgets to see how they worked. Now it’s grown, the love of tinkering evolved into a love of creating. Making quilts turned into painting walls and decorating our home. Then I realized not only could I decorate the home with new furniture but I could take old pieces and breathe some new life into them. Each piece has a history and it’s fun to be able to incorporate that old character into a modern look.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite part of living in the South Bay is you have so many things to choose from! We’re 100% goin to Disneyland, eating at some random ramen joints, and getting beers/micheladas is a must.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family! I couldn’t do anything without the hubs support, my parents encouragement and my sister’s input! It takes a village!
