We had the good fortune of connecting with Marty Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marty, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Unlike my parents’ generation where getting a college degree and securing a good-paying job, preferably in government, was seen as the path to a secure future, I don’t believe that mindset holds true anymore for our generation. Instead of following that traditional route, my thought process behind starting my own business stemmed from the realization that it’s crucial to pursue something you genuinely enjoy and are passionate about. I wanted to find a way to make a living by doing work that aligns with my interests and allows me to tap into my true potential. Starting my own business gave me the opportunity to create something meaningful while being in control of my career path.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets my business apart is the diverse range of professional experiences that have equipped me with a unique set of skills and perspectives. From my time in the military, where I gained leadership and planning abilities beyond my primary role, to working in government, where I honed project management and operational skills, and later in corporate roles spanning warehouse management, HR, payroll, and cross-functional team leadership – all of these experiences have provided me with a robust toolbox to tackle various business challenges. Transitioning into marketing, event management, social media campaigns, and web design roles further expanded my capabilities, allowing me to offer a comprehensive suite of services to my clients today. However, this journey hasn’t been easy. Juggling a demanding full-time job while building my business had been the biggest challenge, often requiring long nights and sacrificing personal time in the short term.
But the lessons I’ve learned are invaluable. I’ve realized that short-term pains and sacrifices are necessary for long-term rewards, and that perseverance and a strong work ethic are crucial for success. What I want the world to know about my brand is that when clients work with me, they’re working with someone who has a diverse professional background and a deep commitment to quality and their success.
I don’t just deliver what’s expected – I go above and beyond because I genuinely care about my clients’ visions and am invested in their achievements. Whether it’s graphic design, web services, event management, or social media management, my clients can expect a high level of expertise, attention to detail, and a partner who is rooting for their success every step of the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d plan an itinerary that showcases the best of Los Angeles. We’d start with breathtaking views by visiting the iconic Griffith Observatory and taking a scenic drive along Mulholland Drive to take in the stunning vistas of the city. For a cultural experience, we’d spend a day exploring the fascinating museums in LA, immersing ourselves in art and history. Some must-visit spots would be the Getty Center, LACMA, and The Broad.
When it comes to dining, I’d take them to some of my favorite spots like Nick and Stef’s for delicious steaks and seafood, and Kaiba Sushi for an authentic sushi experience. For those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, Stay Zero Proof is a fantastic option, while Steep is the go-to place for expertly crafted cocktails.
To balance the urban exploration, we’d spend a day enjoying nature at the Los Angeles Historic Park, where we can take leisurely walks and appreciate the greenery. Additionally, UCLA’s Botanical Garden would provide a serene escape for some much-needed zen time.
Throughout the week, we’d also explore unique neighborhoods, check out local markets, and experience the vibrant nightlife that LA has to offer, making sure to soak up the city’s diverse culture and energy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to Marie Wilde. Initially, she was just a client who hired me for social media campaign and website design services. However, our professional relationship evolved into something more profound. As I got to know Marie better, she became a source of inspiration for me. Marie encouraged me to stay true to my passion and pursue my entrepreneurial dreams. She helped me refocus my intentions and reminded me that we have the power to forge our own paths in life. Marie’s own inspiring story of how she built her successful career served as a testament that with determination and perseverance, we can achieve our goals and find fulfillment in doing what we love.
