We had the good fortune of connecting with Naomi Uchida-Boas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Naomi, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work Life Balance: Finding the Sacred Geometry in my Daily Routine Work-Life Balance. The phrase sounds like a dream. It seems we’re always chasing this elusive goal of work-life balance but never seem to achieve it, with ever increasing demands on life. Covid has added another layer to this challenge, as we were forced overnight to convert our homes to work spaces and schools. This has come with the need to make major lifestyle adjustments- from constantly being on zoom calls, to managing our kids’ online school, to cooking at home, and seeing our partner day in and day out – the way we approach work and life, and how we find balance, has drastically changed. Many of us yearn to return to pre-covid life, but for better or worse, we’re not going back. We are in the midst of a great transformation, and this is merely the beginning. Being adaptable while maintaining balance is critical to navigating this new terrain. I have no desire to return to my pre-covid life, because this past year gave me a chance to slow down and take a breath. It’s as if I put my foot on the brake right before I was about to hit a brick wall. I had been on overdrive for years, burning the candle at both ends, and burning myself out as I became a mom and launched a new career at the same time. I knew I could not just rely on eating well and taking herbs to sustain me, because I was defying one of Ayurveda’s most basic principles: Balance. When I think of balance I think of a seesaw or scale. Equal weight. Finding balance means giving adequate time – or equal weight – to the things that are my greatest priorities in life – my family, my wellness, my career, my personal/ spiritual/ educational growth, my friends and my clients. I may not always achieve equal weight in each of these areas, but these are the priorities of life through which I gauge my center of gravity – they are a way to check-in to see if I am maintaining balance. If any one area is demanding more of my time consistently (or if I’m being pulled outside of these areas), then I know I need to make a shift. Like the petals of a flower, these separate areas combine to create an integrated whole that keeps me balanced (and sane). Balance is finding the sacred geometry in the rhythms of our daily lives, while being able to adapt in these sometimes chaotic and unpredictable times.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m super excited as my business is currently going through a major transformation. I started out as an Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner. As I started seeing more clients, each with an array of complicated symptoms and diseases, I quickly began to realize that healing must go much deeper than the physical layer. Ayurveda teaches us to find and eliminate the root cause of dis-ease. This is one of the most fascinating things about practicing healing – solving the mystery of the root. I soon went deep into Vedic Astrology, and learned to understand people as cosmic energy and karmic bodies. Through Vedic Astrology we can gain a window into the timing of events in one’s life (how long a disease may last, or when a relationship is likely to end, or when a job will change), and we can understand the tendencies and energies of a person, as well as health strength and potential for illness. Many may not be aware that there are specific and effective remedies in Vedic Astrology that enact change on the subtle level. Through the sounds and vibrations of specific mantras, we literally rewire our brains and as a result, enhance our own subtle energy field, so that we vibrate on a different level and attract upgraded experiences and people to us. Worship of deities, gemstones, pujas, yantra, and donation are tried and true remedies from Vedic Astrology that shift the energetic frequencies keeping us bound by space and time. Vedic Astrology expands our awareness beyond the material and opens us to a mystical and divine perspective. More recently, I finally pursued learning a healing system called Biomagnetism, which I had been intrigued by for years, but time didn’t allow it until now. This therapy was developed by Dr. Isaac Goiz in Mexico, where it is widely practiced. Biomagnetism re-establishes Ph in the fluids and organs of the body, balances the microbiome and virome, and boosts the bioelectromagnetic field within and surrounding the body. Many symptoms respond well and quickly to Biomagnetic therapy. We are healing clients with Lyme’s Disease, Epstein Barr Virus, Skin diseases, Anxiety, H. Pylori, Parasites, Fibromyalgia, Digestive Issues, and other mysterious symptoms – simply by restoring the energetic field of the body so that it can heal itself. If all disease is a lowering of frequency, then Biomagnetism restores the vibrational frequency of the body and mind to healthy levels, where disease cannot take root and survive. Seeing biomagnetism work so effectively on my clients and myself, I started learning more about how it works, and about energy work. This soon led me back to quantum field theory- this time I felt it easier to grasp than in years past when I had my initial introduction to it. I am fascinated by how science is finally proving what the ancient seers knew – there is definitely more to reality than meets the eye! Currently, I am combining these three areas – Ayurveda, Vedic Astrology and Bio-Energetic Healing to develop a comprehensive healing system that focuses on uncovering the root cause and restoring multidimensional health – in the physical, mental, spiritual, energetic, and karmic bodies. My greatest joy is receiving positive results from clients – their labs are better, they feel great, have more energy, got a new job, launched a business – these are my dopamine hits. This is surely an exciting and relevant time to be in this field of holistic medicine, I feel blessed to be able to serve in this way. Through greater awareness of ourselves, of our purpose, of our infinite potentials, the greater we can become as a collective and shift the energetic field of this planet. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shout out and a huge thank you to all who have supported and guided me along the way: – My family, especially my mom, for all her support and help with my business – My partner Ray, son Keanu and step-daughter Caitlin, for their unconditional love and support, especially for allowing me to use them as guinea pigs for all my new healing techniques – My Ayurveda family and teachers (Dr. Anu, Dr. Jay, Dr. Prasad, Dr. Manjusha, and Dr. Bharathi) – My astrology teacher Freedom Cole – Brian Garcia, my colleague, mentor, friend and business partner
