Meet Marvo the Martian | Artist & Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marvo the Martian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marvo, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I decided to pursue a music career based off a lot of events in my life. Me knowing I’ve had something very special from a very tender age and watching & studying my favorite performers like MJ, Chris Brown & Usher has inspired me to do what I do today. Actually, it’s something I still do to this day! And they have some huge shoes to fill, but I believe in myself!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a creative my entire 19 years of living! Whether that be on paper, verbally, or visually… I love and seek new creativity all throughout the day. I could say I’m most proud of my first single as an adult that’s about to be dropping, “Show You” It’s a piece of work where I really got to show a lot of emotion and gives my fans a vulnerable side to me, which I feel is very important as a singer/artist! My mother raised two kids by herself as a single mother from the DMV all the way to LA, it’s not easy raising 2 prodigies in LA whatsoever. We went through a lot of struggles such as homelessness living in motels, me often having to take public transportation at 10-years-old by myself 3 cities away, and unfortunately a brief experience with substance abuse for me at age 18.
Overall, I overcame a whole lot and learned a whole lot for me to be 19 and on my path to becoming the future biggest entertainer ever. I understand and realize everything happens for a reason and everything that has happened in my life was to make me stronger.
How I got where I am today is through a lot of hardship, a lot of “no’s,” a lot of rejection, and a lot of lessons. Just like any great in the industry I was slept on for a very long time due to my age or maybe even my confidence at times, but things started changing for me around 2020 when I decided to start doing TikToks, I’ve managed to maintain a nice little following of over 20,000 people who love my content and I know they will love the music I’m finally dropping! It wasn’t & isn’t easy being a social media influencer or even staying consistent, especially when life throws you a lot of distractions. Big lessons I’ve learned are to stay focused, believe in yourself, love yourself, practice, and never stop applying pressure no matter what people say. And even when it looks like it’s not working, live in your imagination rather than in your observation.
One thing I want the world to know is that Marvo the Martian is going to be great, a sensation at that. I cannot wait to be one of the biggest entertainers in the game and will never ever let my fans or supporters down musically. I’ve always wanted this and will forever want this, and most of all I wanna make my family proud!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend from the DMV came to LA I’d have to show her the whole town! One thing about me is I love a good adventure! And everything I do already is really fun so honestly I’d just show her my lifestyle! I would show her the beaches out here, Rodeo drive…I’d have to take her to Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles because, sheesh! And maybe even the Walk of Fame just to show her where I want my star!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout would definitely have to go to my mother, Tamieka Briscoe, she always does everything she physically, emotionally, and mentally can to be a fantastic inspirational, dedicated and nurturing single mother—raising my sister and I by herself. Letting us know anything is possible and the sky is the limit, especially when you’re grounded in faith.
