We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Milde and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, what makes you happy? Why?
For me, personally, true happiness is more of a state of mind. I believe, that being truly happy doesn’t mean waiting around or hinging your hopes on something to come along and bring joy to your life, and “to make you happy.” It means taking the time to realize that you’re able of tapping into that state anytime. And if you think about it from that perspective, you start to realize that it is a core to everything, and all of the other things that come to the mind like family, career, financial freedom, health are the greatest bonuses that we get to enjoy along the way. This way if one of them is missing, your happiness wouldn’t be taken away from you. I used to think that happiness is a balance, essentially when you have all your boxes checked, but in fact, it is not. Our lives will never be balanced in the way we envision for them to be. So striving for a complete balance, to me seems to be an attempt to strive for a perfectionism. The word “happiness” for me is also tied very closely to the word “success”. You’re successful to me if you’re truly happy in your life.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have my own brand and I’m an Amazon seller. The brand “Bohwest” has launched on Amazon quite recently. We’re currently proud of the physical products that we had an opportunity to bring to life. There was about six months of intense work going on behind the scenes prior that launch. We have first started out with launching just a few jewelry and home decor pieces, however, the collection will be expanding in the future. One of the things that I’m most excited about is for my company to be working with a charity, and donating some of the profit, since it is so important to give back!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a fun question! I enjoy Los Angeles so much, and it is always so exciting for me anytime there’s an opportunity to show someone around. I guess, it really depends on the one’s interests, however, I do have a few places in mind that is hard not to enjoy. Some of those are:
•Venice Canals in Venice Beach area. Beautiful and peaceful area with the houses located by the water, facing canals and narrow boardwalks connecting with bridges.
•Malibu Beaches. There’s so many beaches in Malibu area, you can drive along the shore and see them all, if you wish. Each is so unique and has a different scenery.
•The boardwalk near Santa Monica Pier. You can enjoy the well-know pier and walk or bike right by the ocean.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m incredibly fortunate to have both of my parents, that have always supported me along the journey no matter what. They have always believed in me, allowed me to follow my passions and have given me the freedom to make any big decisions for myself ever since I was little.
