Meet Matthew Gangi | Reiki Master

We had the good fortune of connecting with Matthew Gangi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Matthew, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It didn’t really start off with the thought process of wanting to start a business. The more I meditated and got grounded in the present moment–the more I stopped to listen and observe, these little nuggets of wisdom starting bubbling up from within me. And it was in part the Reiki flowing from Source Consciousness, that pure Divine Love, and in part my Higher Self, but these truths I was experiencing was just too good for me not to share. And I felt into this deep connection I had with all living things, and all people, and knew that everyone had these same truths within them too. I wanted to help them see what I saw, to realize the love within us and around us, and to find that beauty and stillness that I had found in the present moment. And as I shared my voice and my energy work, the business sort of naturally grew around that, as living in this world still required me to make money!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, I’m a Reiki Master. It brings me great joy to share Reiki with the world, and I know that whoever is meant to be with me on this journey will find me. Reiki is pure, unconditional Love that comes from our Creator, our Source, and it flows through all of us. In sharing this energy with all of you, I feel the deep connection that we all share, and I hope to awaken that remembrance in us all. I also hope to help others heal themselves, the way I’ve been able to heal myself. I’ve been an addict, I’ve been an escapist, a disassociative, and Reiki helped me face the things about myself I didn’t like, and truly love who I am and who I’ve been, in all of my phases. It’s been a crazy and bumpy journey and I am still faced with new challenges every day, but that’s what I’m here for! I never wanted anything to be handed to me. It had to be difficult, and sometimes it has to really push me past my limits in order for me to keep growing, evolving and becoming better. I guess if I was proud about anything, I’d be proud of the miraculous changes, healing and growth I’ve seen in so many people that have been touched by my work. I am so grateful that the love I share has awakened healing in so many, and I’m grateful that more and more people are remembering their true nature through me as a channel.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hmm, well I’d take them to this really lovely El Salvadoran restaurant that’s close to where I live–some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. We would go and hike some of my favorite trails in the beautiful woods, listening to the babbling streams and calling birds. We’d also go to a few lakes, and although it’s too cold right now to swim, maybe we’d catch a glimpse of a water snake or some deer. I’d grab a telescope and we would try to sneak a peek at some planets, appreciating our humble place in this vast Universe. And then maybe have a few beers and play some old retro video games, haha.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out one of my best friends, Kris. Even though I was in tune with Reiki and could cultivate that peace and stillness in the present moment, I would still wrestle with my ego, my selfish demands, and wanting to control every little thing about my life. Kris has taught me that truly being mindful isn’t just something we can practice on a yoga mat or for 10-30 minutes at a time with your devices turned off. True mindfulness can be a moving meditation, and he taught me how to bring conscious awareness to my thoughts, words and actions like no one had ever done before. He had patience with me and didn’t take it personally if I acted like a selfish butthole. Instead, he helped me see things about my thoughts and actions that just needed an outside perspective. And now I not only think and act but I observe everything. I don’t react but I choose my actions carefully. I feel my emotions deeply, perhaps more deeply than ever before, but I don’t let them get the best of me. I remain in the flow, a rock in the stream, and I have Kris to thank for that!
