Meet Maxamil | Fashion Designer/Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maxamil and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maxamil, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Me and the brand are here to inspire. Besides one of the main parts of the brand being upcycling our pieces to better the environment, it’s all about inspiration and culture. Our events have put people together that formed amazing relationships with one another in the community. The inspiration people feel seeing a young black designer keep taking steps towards the top is the reason I keep going. I always hope to motivate others to accomplish dreams and be creative.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my clothing brand Wasted Youth Crew (WYC) 6 years ago and it’s changed over time into something amazing. WYC upcycles to make 1 of 1 pieces and quantity but quality pieces. The events we put on expand our community and give everyone an experience they never forget. The world will know the name WYC.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
M Street Coffee man.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When given the chance I will always shoutout my parents who put me in the position that I’m in today and continue to push me when I need it. I truly would not be here without them so let’s put the spotlight towards @richardleacock1 and @guiltfreestyle.
