Meet Megan Gillespie

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Gillespie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal: to be in charge of my time, to take care of my aging parents both with my time and money, to travel when I want to and inspire others to communicate effectively by trusting themselves and everyone around them. However, I do not see an end to my career, because I am a coach and teacher, if I keep learning, I can keep teaching through my experience, strength and hope.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my career as an opera singer, and I am most proud of all of my failures because those failures have helped me grow into the successful person. I am today. I have sung all over the world in more languages than I can remember And being humble enough to be able to mess it up, take feedback and implement it has made me a wildly successful business owner.
I got to where I am today because I took the things I enjoy most about my art and creativity and turned them into a viable business and a needed commodity. So through ConversationalEnglishPro.com I train people who speak English as a second language in leadership and communication skills through Accent training, vocal tone, and facial and body expression. through my operatic career and my acting career in Los Angeles I am now able to help those who struggle to level up even though most of the time people who speak more than one language are the smartest people in the room they don’t speak up or communicate in an effective way because of the stigma around having an accent and lack of confidence.
The biggest challenges I have encountered are actually from my own mindset and feeling of lack. I have worked unbelievably hard to change my mindset, live a life of abundance, find humility, and use my ego to better myself and those around me.
I want the world to know that humans can do anything if they communicate effectively. Effective communication is hindered when we allow our past and our history to inhibit our values, desires and most of all getting curious about others. Being curious is our greatest superpower and asking questions leads to success

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of the best places to hang out in Los Angeles are the places I take myself on artist dates (from the book the artist way). So definitely a farmers market more specifically the Brentwood farmers market, Disneyland, of course because connecting to our younger selves keeps us Curious and not taking life too Seriously,m. I love the Integratron sound bath experience at Joshua tree, the broad stage in Santa Monica has some of the best performances in Los Angeles because it is a smaller theater, the Hollywood bowl, the Dorothy Chandler, where many of my friends and colleagues perform opera, Disney Hall, there’s amazing food along Main Street in Santa Monica, Venice, of course the beach, a drive up PCH even after the fires is still one of my favorite things to do, there’s really so much to do in Los Angeles. There’s so much culture and art, good food joy and inspiration to find.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everyone in my life is responsible for my success. Everyone.
First, 12 step programs, I am in many. It is a FREE way to level up in life by becoming more aware both internally and externally, letting go, turning over what I cannot control, being spiritual, loving myself and those around me, building routine and a daily practice of abundance.
My father, Bruce Gillespie, has been my rock and biggest supporter. #reversedaddyissues – lol – My father has been at every one of my performances, he moved for me, twice, so that i could have a space that works for my businesses, he has supported me monetarily whenever i’ve needed it and is my cheerleader. It’s so easy to find friends and support for when i am down and struggling but my Dad is there to celebrate the wins with me and that is so important.
My Mom, who taught me how to survive in this life, gave me my thick skin, showed me how to empathize, be on time, and most importantly SELL. My whole life is sales and my Mom is a world class sales lady.
My colleagues who support my many endeavors and higher me back, again and again.
My clients who keep me learning and distilling information so it is clear and concise.
My partners who love me for who i am and what i give.
My favorite authors, and books, Kasia Urbaniak wrote UNBOUND, The Four Agreements, The Power of Now, The Law of Success, The Pocket Guid to High Ticket Selling, Becoming Super Natural by Joe Dispenza, Start with Why,
