We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Lyman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, what do you attribute your success to?
don’t sweat the small stuff! as an entrepreneur, you have the pressure of making ALL the decisions. It can be extremely overwhelming if you allow the pressure of decision making rule your life, but something I have consistently worked towards is simplifying everything; making decision making quick and easy without focusing on perfection but more or less progress. this outlook has without a doubt been the main contributing factor to my success.
What should our readers know about your business?
I started Cannibabe (www.cannibabe.com) because at the time I personally could not find a CBD product that was made with simple clean ingredients. In 2017, I was suffering from Ulcerative Colitis (in the Crohn’s disease family), my body could not absorb any artificial ingredients. when CBD first became federally legal, there was an over flux of products on the market, but not all CBD products are made the same. not only were the ingredients in the products harsh, but the amount of CBD in the products was so minimal compared to the price. I was then inspired to start making simple but potent CBD products. through connections of friends in the industry, I purchased CBD distillate and slowly Cannibabe was developed. I know Cannibabe is different than most CBD companies because we focus on the power of healing with higher doses of CBD, most companies offer products as low as 5mg. also, Cannibabe products are priced affordably for the amount of CBD you receive! I have a lot of pride in saying my products are made with ONLY plant based ingredients, that are utilized to benefit your body! a lot of people who are using CBD to reduce inflammation, don’t realize consuming CBD gummies will create inflammation with the sugar and gelatin in the product. at Cannibabe, we believe in harnessing the wisdom of nature to restore our bodies innate peaceful flow. wise people across time maintained their health through sophisticated self-care rituals based on a deep understanding of plants and herbs. by practicing these rituals today – in a way that is modern, simplified, and routine — we can restore our connection with nature and discover a form of health that is non-toxic and sustainable.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wednesday we would drive from my house in Long Beach, down the Pacific Coast Highway in my boyfriends 1965 VW Bug heading to Laguna Beach. We would most likely stop at the Huntington Pier to watch some surfers. Making it to Laguna is a must stop at Shake Shack Crystal Cove (not the franchise). Thursday we would tour LA and a must see is the Griffith Observatory and stopping at Erewhon is a must! Friday we would tour Long Beach… going to my favorite local cafe, Ubuntu, shopping local on 2nd street, lunch at Berth 55 in the port, maybe a hike up Signal Hill and dinner at Tantulum! And for the weekend I would head out to Avalon, Catalina Island for another perspective of SoCal along with some fresh air and nature!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
working in the cannabis industry before legality presented its’ own challenges when looking for guidance or mentorship. because everyone was extremely cautious of who they brought into their inner circle, for safety purposes, finding support and even education was always a struggle. I knew if I wanted to understand the industry I needed to dive head first into all aspects of this newly booming space. from cultivation, education, to the science, medical benefits, commercial cannabis, selling and even the black market, i spent years of my life learning and moving around the country to further expand my knowledge of the plant. throughout this journey, my parents never questioned or doubted my beliefs or lifestyle. growing up in the mountains of New Hampshire, cannabis always had a negative stigma. their support durning my years of curiosity was not only surprising to me but most of my family. their encouragement to continue leaning into my cannabis studies, was at times the only thing keeping me going. even though a successful future was unforeseen, my parents never allowed their fears to overcome their constant support. I’m forever grateful for their relentless love for me. any chance I get to recognize them, I do!
