We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Gilbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melissa, how do you think about risk?
If you want your business to succeed, risks are necessary. Progress always involves risks. Nobody can really be sure if risks will pay off but this should never stop anyone from taking those risks. An optimistic risk-taker will always look at failure as an opportunity to learn. I took a risk by quitting my job and becoming a full time entrepreneur. As everyone’s knows you don’t make profit in the first or second year of business because of revenue going out due to branding, marketing and purchasing product. No matter the outcome never become discouraged or give up. These are all risks we take and we have to continue to think outside of the box and strive.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Kiss’d By Bee was established in 2019. Specializing in Lipgloss and Liquid Lipstick. Since then I’ve added a comprehensive range of services for beauty and personal care in cosmetics. I began to further my education and enrolled in school to become an esthetician. This has opened another door for me which I established my second business “BeYouTIFul Skincare/Beauty”. I provide non-invasive body sculpting, Facials and Back facials. Kiss’d By Bee was the stepping stone in this cosmetic and beauty industry. I’ve learned that the opportunities are there. You have to want more for your brand and continue to research and apply yourself. I would like the world to know self care is important and Kiss’d By Bee provides you with products to create a skincare regimen.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I enjoy going out to eat with friends and talking about business and ways to grow. Some of our favorite places to go eat are Bossa Nova, Ruth Chris and my favorite location to walk around has become old town Temecula because of the restaurants and scenery.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my customers and friends who continue to support me day in and day out. Those who take the time to repost, tag or share a post. As well as posting pictures and videos. My business has thrived from word of mouth and I’m very appreciative of those who have been with me from the very beginning.
