Meet Melody Cohn | Facilitator for Chakradance, Sound baths, Drum Circle Meditations and Reiki Healing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melody Cohn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melody, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Holding space for others to participate and experience my meditations, art, music and more while meeting in my studio gallery & garden in point happy, La Quinta, CA

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Art by a Melody is where I share my light by incorporating it into my painted canvases and fine art techniques. Healing Arts with a Melody is where I share my light as a facilitator and hold space for guided meditations, drum circles, sound healing and reiki. The floating on water soundbath is something I created in August 2022, and this is gaining popularity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to my studio set up for the 3 – 4-day retreat and show them my exhibit of art. Catering healthy food would be included and protein shakes in the Point Happy Garden for break time. They would receive a floating sound bath in the evening with candlelight and the other openings during our time together give each participant a 60-minute reiki session.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Husband Gideon is my number one mentor in most things in life, art and business, and much more. My other mentor is Natalie Southgate, the founder of Chakradance and this is where I began my spiritual journey in facilitating meditations. This moving meditation that resonates with all 7 chakras that incorporates dance, music and guided meditation moves me and I find much enjoyment in making this available for others.
