We had the good fortune of connecting with Meri Kocharian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meri, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
1. One habit that really helps me stay effective is starting my day with clear priorities. Before I dive into work, I take a few minutes to outline what needs to be done, focusing on the most important tasks first. It keeps me from getting lost in the small details and ensures that I make real progress.

Another thing I swear by is deep focus time—I set aside dedicated blocks where I eliminate distractions and fully immerse myself in a task. It’s amazing how much more I get done when I’m not constantly switching between things.

And lastly, I believe in balance. Taking short breaks, going for a walk, or just stepping away from my workspace for a bit helps me recharge and come back with fresh energy. It’s easy to think that pushing through nonstop is the best way to be productive, but I’ve found that real effectiveness comes from working smart, not just hard.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Right now, my biggest focus is my aroma diffuser brand. I create homemade diffusers, including reed diffusers, car diffusers, aroma sachets, candles, and room and linen sprays. It’s something I’m deeply passionate about because scents have such a powerful impact on mood and atmosphere.

Since I make everything in my home laboratory, a lot of my time goes into experimenting with new scent combinations, perfecting formulas, and ensuring the quality of each product. I also handle the business side—packaging, marketing, and connecting with customers. It’s a mix of creativity and strategy, which keeps things exciting.

Beyond that, I’m always learning—whether it’s about new fragrance trends, sustainable materials, or ways to enhance my products. It’s a constant process of growth, and I love every part of it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want to give them the perfect mix of must-see spots, hidden gems, and meaningful experiences. We’d start with a warm welcome—grabbing coffee from a specialty café, taking a relaxed stroll through the city, maybe stopping by a farmer’s market or a charming bookstore. In the evening, we’d settle into a cozy dinner at a beautiful restaurant with a great ambiance, something rustic and inviting.

At some point, we’d spend a day reconnecting with nature, taking a scenic walk or a peaceful hike, just breathing in the fresh air and catching up. I’d also bring them into my world of scent creation, letting them explore my home lab and even make their own diffuser or candle as a little keepsake. And, of course, we’d end that day with a comforting dinner, maybe somewhere with a great wine selection.

I’d also want to show them the creative and cultural side of the city—visiting a museum or gallery, then exploring unique boutiques or vintage stores. We’d have lunch somewhere vibrant, with a beautiful view or an unexpected twist on flavors. As the sun sets, we’d find a stylish rooftop bar for cocktails and end the night with live music or an intimate speakeasy vibe.

A little adventure would be a must, so we’d take a road trip to a scenic town or a beach, exploring local cafés and artisan shops, maybe having a picnic or a meal at a charming countryside spot. The ride back would be filled with music and laughter, and we’d wind down the day with tea, candles, and late-night conversations.

To balance things out, we’d dedicate a day to self-care. A slow morning with a long brunch, then maybe a spa visit, a sauna, or a DIY self-care session at home—skincare, aromatherapy, just pure relaxation. The evening would be all about good food, good wine, and heartfelt talks.

I’d also love to do something hands-on and creative together—maybe a pottery or painting workshop, followed by wandering through a beautiful bookstore or an artisan market. We’d wrap up with a fun, lively dinner somewhere unique, a place that feels like an experience in itself.

As the trip comes to an end, I’d keep the last day slow and meaningful. A quiet morning walk, coffee in a cozy spot, and a heartfelt brunch where we reminisce about the trip. Before they leave, we’d visit a special place—a breathtaking viewpoint, a peaceful garden—just a moment to take it all in before saying goodbye. I’d want them to leave feeling inspired, refreshed, and already looking forward to the next visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my family and my best friend. Everything started with their help—their belief in me, their encouragement, and their willingness to stand by my side no matter what. From the very first steps of this journey, they’ve been my biggest supporters, always pushing me forward, reminding me of my strengths, and celebrating every milestone with me.

Now, I feel truly blessed to have such incredible, loyal, and supportive people around me. The kind of team I have—made up of family and friends who genuinely want to see me succeed—is something one could only dream of. Their love and support mean the world to me, and I’m endlessly grateful to have them on this journey with me.
