Meet Miguel Canchola | Creative Director, Organizer, Musical Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Miguel Canchola and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miguel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I think about risk, I think about what I am trying to accomplish and where I want to be. I have never been the type of person to be content with where they are, instead I have always been the kind to take chances whenever they’re presented. Nothing is ever guaranteed, but I also think that you miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take, and I have opened many doors for opportunity & growth because of that. For instance, Rhythm & Flow is a great example of taking risks. Starting from scratch is never easy, but with persistence, teamwork, and a goal we have formulated early what it means to take risk and be moderately successful.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a multi talented artist that wears many hats is never easy, and sometimes it feels impossible to accomplish what I set out to do. However, being goal oriented with a clear mission in mind has helped me develop a part of me I didn’t know existed. Before I got into music, I have always been interested in photography and videography. I would take pictures and film videos, but never have the confidence to show anyone my work. Not until me and DJ Inferno started building our brand, Rhythm & Flow I decided what my Identity was going to be. I would be the creative director overseeing our creative production, skits, logos, etc. Content is one of the most critical pieces to our brand, and delivering the most engaging kind of content will be what separates us from the rest.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite place to eat in the city would be Route 99 just outside of salem in Brooks, OR. I’m a big breakfast person and they have some of the best breakfast, but their lunch is delicious too. When it comes to hanging out I really enjoy Downtown Salem. It has just about everything there is to see, and if you can go to the Saturday Market there’s so much to see and buy there as well. Salem overall, is a great place to be and there is so much to offer wether its wine tasting, walking around downtown, grabbing a cup of coffee, or just checking out the many small business it has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give credit to my family – my mom & dad especially because they have given me the support and tools early on in my life to pursue my dreams and to never give up. In addition, my business partner and friend DJ Inferno has helped me push my limits on creativity and success in every role we need in order to have a successful platform for the state of Oregon and beyond to see. Lastly, I want to shoutout my team Marcey – I wouldn’t have taken any steps into the concert/show life without the vision and support of my team behind me to help me understand what it means to organize a successful and impactful concert/show.
