Meet Mikal Burrell: DJ Tip Toe

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mikal Burrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mikal, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly my major thought process and goal was to create and opportunity to help other people giving back to those who helped us get to where we are today. And i did not have a solid idea as to how to do it but when there is a will and drive there is a way by any means.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My Brand that is growing on a daily basis is called “Open Space” which mean with a creative mind, willpower, drive and gifted opportunity anything is possible. It was definitely an interesting experience to get where i am because at the start I honestly did not think it would have worked out the way that it did but I am glad and proud that I continued on this journey. Started from being a DJ to an Author to producing my very own music project. Before the pandemic me and Tyler were doing shows almost every week and a different open mic and I was still working a part almost full time job. I overcame every obstacle by just telling myself this is my story and my life and I wanna see where this journey is gonna take me.if there’s one thing about my brand I want to leave as a legacy for everyone to remember is that we all have a creative mind and blessed talent everyone is a star a true work of art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Growing up me and my friends used to always go to the mini Grand Prix and drive go karts or go to the adventurer dome and go on all the ride and arcades. To eat nothing to Extravagant maybe go out for sushi or maybe nice restaurant. When my uncle MCHammer comes to town and has one of his concerts we would go there and have a great time listening to the classics. I am not really much of a drinker but I love my Juices like (orange and grape) and chocolate milks and i definitely love almost all my wonderful fruit (berries and grapes).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I have to give credit where credit is definitely due then it would definitely be the man above for putting me on this wonderful path and a good friend of mine that practically became family Tyler Jones seeing his work ethic and drive and passion for what he does and wants builds my drive that if one person can do it all by himself then anyone that is given the opportunity and wanting grow and be successful can do it as well.
