Hi Mikella, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?

I feel like people should not just live only to get an education but also to experience new things and to make a difference. My career goals/business is driving me to continue to give to others. I want to equip myself with the knowledge and skills to educate others. My desire is to make a significant difference in the lives of those who cannot speak for themselves.

Michelle Obama is the epitome of success and selflessness. She is one of my biggest role models. She has an amazing work ethic she gained from her parents( just like me), and she empowers others. She faced opposition while attending Harvard, which was watching her father suffer with Multiple Sclerosis.

I, too, have had to watch my mother and grandmother suffer with serious illness while trying to achieve my degree. She went to school for law, and she believes in making a change to help others to become better. Her voice was amplified, and she unleashed her power throughout the United States.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice (December of 2019) with hopes of becoming an attorney. It wasn’t easy starting a business and book series in less than a year out of college while maintaining jobs (some in retail)/internships at the United States Capitol(from 2020 to even until now with Majority Leader Congressman Steny Hoyer).

I love my jobs, and I’m a hard worker. If I am honest though it was still a lot to deal with. I have a lot of things to juggle. However, my journey has definitely been rewarding. I am a Christian motivational speaker/YouTuber. My books and clothing align with my speaking career.

I introduced three three things at once which were my brand new Christian website, my book, and business under
Mikella Speaks and Covered By Three LLC. On November 26, 2020, I published and released my brand new book, shirts, products, and website.

What sets me apart is that I look at imperfections as strengths rather than weaknesses which inspired me to write my first book “Anointing Over Perfection: The Power Of Perseverance In the Pursuit Of Purpose”. What also sets me apart is that I’m a 23 year-old using my brand Covered By Three as a new way for me to introduce Jesus to people.

The reasoning behind Covered by Three is that you must first have faith to believe that God is God and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins (John 3:16). You must have faith in Him before you can walk in wisdom (Hebrews 11:6) You have to have faith to believe in the wisdom that God gives from His word (Proverbs 3:16). When you accept and learn wisdom from the Bible and Holy Spirit, you will be guided on when and how to step out on faith. After you have applied faith and wisdom, then you are equipped with all of the tools needed to walk into your God-given purpose!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God, my grandmother(who is deceased), my parents, and my church have had a great impact on my journey. First of all, I would like to give all the glory, because he deserves the credit for me making this far. I also want to thank my church and my pastors for 23 years this far for all the support, teachings, impartations, and love. On April 23, 2020, God revealed to me personally that I am covered by three. Not only did God reveal this to me, but He also had four prophets to confirm this. I am covered under the anointing of my father, mother, and grandma. They are the three people in my life that I have spent the most time with, and they instilled good morals and the principles of God in me. As an only child, everything all falls on me. I am so grateful for the love and impact that all three of them have had in my life. I also started Covered By Three to keep my grandmother’s legacy going after she died in 2018.
