We had the good fortune of connecting with Mina Huynh Artis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mina, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I started dancing at the age of 5, and it became my first introduction to creative expression. Growing up, dance wasn’t just a hobby—it was my way of expressing myself and connecting with the world in ways words couldn’t. That joy and passion led me to pursue dance professionally, moving to Los Angeles at 19 to chase my dreams. Over the past 7+ years, I’ve built a career I’m incredibly proud of, working on everything from live performances to commercials, music videos, and tours. Each experience shaped not only who I am as a person but also deepened my understanding of creativity and storytelling.

Over time, I realized my creativity and potential weren’t limited to dance alone. My experiences as a performer, choreographer, content producer, photographer, and media professional revealed that I am a multi-hyphenate at heart. Each role taught me new skills and gave me fresh perspectives, and it became clear that my purpose was bigger than any one title.

Pivoting my career to embrace these other passions has been an empowering journey. As a co-founder of Artis Media Group with my partner, Karl, I’m focused on combining everything I’ve learned—whether it’s storytelling through movement, capturing moments behind the camera, or building community through creative projects—to pursue new dreams and inspire others to explore their own potential. At the core of my creative career, I’m driven by the desire to inspire others, create opportunities, and continuously push the boundaries of what’s possible in every creative endeavor.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is always evolving, shaped by trial and error, personal growth, and a commitment to improving myself. What sets me apart is how I draw from the many perspectives of being a multi-hyphenate to craft visions and bring them to life—whether through movement, photography, content production, or as a co-founder of Artis Media Group. Each role gives me a unique way to tell stories, and I’m still discovering how they all come together to reflect my journey. I’m proud that my creativity isn’t just a personal outlet—it’s something I can use to uplift and inspire others.

Getting to where I am today professionally has been a journey. It hasn’t always been easy, but each challenge has taught me something invaluable. One of the biggest obstacles I’ve faced as a creative and business owner has been working through limiting beliefs and navigating burnout. Self-doubt and the pressure to succeed can be overwhelming, especially when trying to balance creative passions with the stability of a traditional job. These experiences pushed me to redefine discipline—not as rigid perfectionism or self-punishment fueled by negative self-talk, but as a commitment to consistent growth. Burnout, in particular, taught me the importance of balance and the power of pausing to reset. It forced me to reevaluate my approach to work and life, shifting my mindset from “all or nothing” to embracing progress, even if it’s just 1% better each day.

By reframing my perspective and being kinder to myself, I’ve been able to navigate challenges, refine my process, and rediscover joy in both personal growth and creative expression. It’s been about showing up for myself, trusting my ability to live fully and be present—not just through the tough times, but in all the amazing moments as well.

Along the way, I’ve learned that every setback is an opportunity for growth and that staying true to my values, even when the path feels uncertain (which is often, lol), is essential. As someone who’s learned to be very independent and wears many hats, I’ve also come to understand the power of community and collaboration—we’re not meant to do it all alone. Having a support system of people who believe in your vision is truly invaluable.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m here to create space for others to thrive, express themselves, and grow. My work is about empowering people to find joy in their passions and reminding them that it’s okay to evolve, try new things, pivot, and prioritize self-care along the way. My brand celebrates being multifaceted, embraces both the victories and the challenges, and is rooted in moving forward with intention and purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
These are some of my current favorite places and activities, but they’re also the perfect way to sprinkle a little fun into adulting and everyday life! 🙂

Day 1: K-Town & Downtown LA Fun (Start off strong)
* Enjoy Korean food at Dan Sung Sa and indulge in Korean-style shaved ice at Oakobing. It’s literally across the street, so you can walk over after dinner!
* Head to EightyTwo, an arcade bar in Downtown LA, for games and drinks. They had the best selection of games, pinball machines, and great music!

Day 2: Golf, Adventure & Valley Eats
* Start the day with a round of golf at Hansen Dam Golf Course in Pacoima.
* We love a good challenge and teamwork, so Escape Room: Atlantis – The Forgotten City in Van Nuys. The game master was so kind and the room was epic.
* End with dinner at Krua Thai or Kazuki Sushi in Valley Glen. Both such delicious options with great customer service!

Day 3: Malibu Day
* Explore The Getty Villa for stunning views and art. Lots of picture perfect moments!
* Relax at Pointe Dume Beach and enjoy the Malibu coastline. This is my favorite beach because there’s parking and bathrooms as well!
* Savor Greek cuisine at Taverna Tony. This place is addicting!

Day 4: Shopping & Sweet Treats
* Customize lipstick at Lip Lab by Bite and shop at Westfield Century City Mall. The best bonding time and a chance to get creative on a lip color!
* Treat yourself to dinner at Javier’s and finish with gelato from Bacio di Latte. A lethal duo that’s also across from each other as well lol!

Day 5: Studio City Charm + Hollywood Nightlife
* Grab coffee at Coffee + Plants and do a hike at Fryman Canyon
* After grab brunch at Casita, or if you’re vegan Sun Cafe is a yummy choice as well!
* Spend the evening at Andy’s Jazz & R&B Club or experience the Cuban-themed nightlife at La Descarga. I’m a big fan of live music, so both are wonderful if you want to dance and have a good time!

Day 6: Day Trip to Catalina Island
* Take a ferry from Long Beach to Catalina Island for a day of scenic adventure. I definitely recommend renting the golf cart and touring the island yourself! Fun Fact: I got engaged here at the top of the hill overlooking all of Catalina – so romantic!:)

Day 7: Fun at the LA Zoo
* Wrap up the week with a day at the LA Zoo. They also have so many lovely vendors set up outside when you exit the zoo. Support your small businesses!
