We had the good fortune of connecting with Miranda OHare and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miranda, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think about this a lot. Taking risks has been a huge part of my life and career. You have to be pretty brave and bold to be an actor or creative of any kind. Especially moving to LA from Sydney, it was very scary and I guess quite a risk. But when you have a good family, you have a support system that allows you to take risks. So I am very lucky in that regard.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an actor and voice actor. I moved to LA eight years ago from Sydney, it’s been a rollercoaster for sure. I have acted in film and TV in Sydney and the US and most recently I have done some voice over work for video games which was very unexpected and super fun. I also make content, mostly on tiktok and love that as a platform to express myself creatively. LA is a very competitive town, there is an insane amount of rejection on the daily pursuing a career in the arts, that can be difficult to adjust too. In a lot of ways, I’ve actually gotten used to it. A lot of people struggle in LA, including myself. Something I value about myself however is that I’m very resilient and that’s gotten me through a lot of struggles and rejections here. The thing that sets me apart the most is just being me. I tried to be this polished, gorgeous version of myself for a long time and it took me a while to realise the thing that set me apart was literally just being myself. I am loud and a bit messy in essence but I’m funny and I’m kind and I genuinely care about people and telling stories. When I began leaning into being myself I began to grown on different platforms and i think most importantly, I feel happier day to day. I want my content and my work to encourage people to be kinder to themselves and to pursue their dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Straight up I will be honest, I am not the best tour guide! But when someone is visiting, I take them to the obvious places, Hollywood Blvd, Runyon Canyon, Griffith Park etc.
I live in West Hollywood/ Hollywood area so I go out a lot here, some bars I love at the moment are Desert Five Spot, Mama Shelter and iconic hotels like The Roosevelt or the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Food wise, you have to go to Jones, Cecconi’s and I love El Compadere because it’s fun and super afforable.
For sure get a bike and ride from santa Monica to Venice, thats always fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s been a lot of people along the way that have supported me. Honestly the biggest shout out goes to my friends. My two best friends in LA, Margot and Maddie have supported me through so much. I owe a lot to them, they help me with self tapes, auditions, breakdowns, rejections, they celebrate my successes! Friends are everything.
