We had the good fortune of connecting with Mitch Darnell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mitch, what principle do you value most?
The Purpose-Driven Life is the principle that guides and informs me the most. By seeking to live a Purpose-Driven Life, I strive to make choices and actions that serve a more honorable and valuable purpose than simply to satisfy my “needs”, or other basic instincts. This commitment is often lonely, as few people wish to consider Purpose, because it rarely sees “profit”, “vendetta”, “revenge”, or “opportunity to make others less” as an honorable/worthy Purpose. Meanwhile, having this as my primary guiding principle inspires my hope to leave a legacy that may resonate with others and inspire them to live likewise.

Please tell us more about your art. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
My art is creating an organization out of passion and ideas. I’m VERY blessed to be inspired, and to lead a Purpose-driven Life which gives me passion to pursue those ideas.

Within my art are: 1. The knowledge that I don’t know entirely what my Purpose is in any given interaction, opportunity or relationship. I just stay centered and let the Universe drive Purpose. 2. An Intention and proactive effort to leave every single person who comes in contact with me and my organization with a sense they were valued and respected. 3. An Intention and effort to engage people in this unique concept and art.. to get many who’ve never volunteered for anything to become a Volunteer, then to grow and to feel great giving back and making a difference for others. 4. A commitment to actively displaying appreciation, respect and value for every single person and entity who collaborates with, or joins me. 5. A commitment to Integrity at the highest-possible level, so people know I and The League of Heroes Inspired AND ForeverInspired (my wedding business) have pure Intentions and a commitment to fulfilling all promises.
I’m proud and excited by the fact that both my wedding officiant business and my non-profit organization are making a REAL, lasting difference in the lives of Volunteers, Clients and Associates.
I’m battling to overcome the challenges of “competitors” and lack of a target market because both of my entities are doing something no one else does, so therefore no one is “looking” for these services!!
No one else puts in the time, and has the insight, background and training to offer what either ForeverInspired (InspirationWeddings) or The League of Heroes Inspired (Therapeutic Cosplay for children who’ve been traumatized) do.
I trust the Journey, knowing perhaps I’ll see less evident “success” and I trust that my art is “making a real, long-lasting positive impact in this World”
Lessons Learned Along The Way (WHEW!! Now THAT’S a LOT!).. Key Lessons:
1. I have to just stay true to my Purpose and trust that whoever is to benefit from my business or non-profit programs will be positively impacted.
2. Allow for the fact that being open and inviting people “in” means mean competitors etc. have stolen images and concepts, lied about my business or my non-profit, and do other unethical things to sabotage my missions or take advantage of what I’ve built. It’s all good. 3. Because what both offer are totally unique, unprecedented services, good associates & allies are far and few between and must be TREASURED!!
I want the world to know that I’m and my business and organization are VERY open to collaboration and to being of service wherever and whenever needed!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So a week-long trip to here HAS to include:

I Old Sacramento – Funky businesses; Old West setting; GREAT grub and EVANGELINE’S – The COOLEST Gift Shop in the World!!
II River Rafting on the American River (if it’s Spring/Summer/Early Fall)!
III Spring-Fall Wine-Tasting in Amador, Lodi.. even Napa!!
IV Lake Tahoe – Southshore for partying, shows and gambling… Northshore for snowskiing, water sports, horseback riding, snowmobiling, golf, tennis, hiking, biking..
V San Francisco for endless excursions and entertainment!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow, so many have positively impacted me that it’s hard to narrow it down!.. Kellogg’s – When I was Tony The Tiger for Kellogg’s I received my initial costumed character experience that left me with a lifelong epiphany around how one can make a difference for hospitalized children!

My Therapist friend Elizabeth Ripley Butcher in Camino, CA turned me on to Archetypes and Life Pathwork, and first told me I should perform weddings professionally!

Then my buddy George Tastard, ever the business mind, told me to take action and become a Wedding Officiant! Around the same time, I also founded The League of Heroes Inspired, which takes my Tony The Tiger experience, informed and lead by my education in Archetypes and Life Pathwork, AND my Landmark Education training around Integrity and seeing Possibilities in Life.. And we started visiting children and our annual gift drive, building up to what is now the World’s only Therapeutic Cosplay(c) service for kids worldwide. Meanwhile, I’ve had the honor of performing approximately 150 or so weddings – Some InspirationWeddings(c); some standard weddings – And what a GREAT learning experience from so many couples!!
