Meet Mks Bisht

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mks Bisht and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mks, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I do value success because I work hard for it and what it takes to achieve it, but I never allow it to turn into ego. For me, success is not something to show off, it is something to stay responsible with…
I have learned that the moment ego enters success, growth slowly walks out. Whatever I have achieved so far is not only because of my ability, but because I stayed open to learning, listening, and improving.
Life keeps teaching you that no matter how high you rise, you still stand on the same ground as everyone else. Isn’t?
That is why I believe staying grounded keeps you teachable and is one of the most important growth factor.
I let my work speak and try to keep my attitude simple. I respect success because it comes from discipline, patience, and consistency, but I respect humility even more because it reminds me where I started and reminds me that there is always more to learn and more to achieve in life.
In the end, I don’t want success to make me louder. I want it to make me better, a better human!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Life is never easy, but you always have a choice. A choice that sets you apart from others. You simply have to believe in yourself and trust your inner voice. At the age of 17, I write books and anchor stages as a speaker. I share my ideas and thoughts and try to serve as a responsible citizen. It may sound crazy or immature to some, but I truly believe that every one of us carries a unique power, a special ability, a passion, or a talent.
Every human being is different, and every child has a different calibre. Some excel in sports, some in music, some in literature, and some find balance in everything they do!
In my case, it was an inner curiosity to explore the world and understand what it truly means to express oneself. At just 17, I’ve been building ventures that reflect innovation, responsibility, and purpose!
FunTours.in (Goa) focuses on curating authentic and affordable travel experiences for youth and families.
BookingMyTrip.org aims to make water sports in Goa more accessible, safe, and trustworthy through a dedicated online platform.
SkillRoom.in is a digital learning platform where students and professionals can create, share, and sell courses, helping bridge the gap between academics and real-world skills.
Alongside this, I partnered with an NGO, and together we work consistently toward the development and promotion of hidden local gems, ensuring that growth benefits both culture and community. I also donate 25 percent of my book revenues to support these initiatives.
My journey has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. There were nights when I stayed awake until 3 in the morning, completing drafts and chasing clarity. Getting the opportunity to step onto the TEDx stage was undoubtedly one of the most defining and fulfilling experiences of my life. It reaffirmed my belief that age does not limit vision, and sincerity always finds its voice.
My story is about proving that India’s youth can innovate, write, and build ventures with global ambition while staying deeply rooted in social responsibility!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is my favourite part! If my best friend were visiting, I wouldn’t plan a flashy, tourist-heavy trip. I’d show them the side of the place that makes you slow down and actually feel life.
We’d start slow. Settle in, take a quiet walk near the beach or through a village road, and watch the sunset without rushing anywhere. Dinner would be at a small local eatery, the kind locals recommend, not what trends online. Simple food, honest flavours and long endless conversations…
For me, the best trips aren’t about ticking places off a list. They’re about moments that stay with you!
When you stop chasing experiences and start absorbing them, that’s when you truly feel life. And that’s the kind of time I’d want my best friend or anyone for that instance to have!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Five years ago, during the infamous Covid era, I developed an unusual passion for writing. It wasn’t influenced by anyone or anything specific. I simply loved expressing what I felt, what I thought, and how my ideas could contribute something meaningful to the world.
Five years later, here we are in 2025. In this journey, I’ve written several successful stories, authored a bestselling book, The Oxygen Countdown, anchored the TEDx stage, and even ventured into building travel startups. I’m just 17 right now, but I know that by the time I turn 27, I won’t be chasing titles alone. I’ll be learning newer skills, evolving constantly, and contributing in deeper ways toward mankind. 25% percent of the total income from my book goes directly toward charity and women empowerment, because success feels incomplete if it doesn’t give back!
Through all of this, my parents have been my strongest support system. They understood my mindset, accepted my unconventional path, and nurtured it with patience and belief. Many people were part of this journey. Some stayed, some left at unexpected moments, but dwelling on that no longer serves any purpose.
My school, Aryaman Vikram Birla Institute of Learning, also served as a strong support system in my journey. The environment encouraged curiosity, self-expression, and independent thinking. Teachers like Ma’am Anita, Ma’am Simran, Ma’am Madhu, and many others whom I may not be able to recall by name consistently inspired me, not just through academics but through their belief, guidance, and encouragement. Their support at the right moments played a meaningful role in shaping my confidence and perspective.
The fact is that life is unpredictable, intense, and sometimes chaotic too! So I choose to live it with a great, gentle, and generous attitude!
