We had the good fortune of connecting with Molly Trotter- Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Molly, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Such a great question! I believe our story is meant to be mentorship to somebody else. I actually came up with the quote in a time where I needed it the most. We aren’t put on this earth to go through the ups and downs in life and keep the lessons to ourselves. In my consulting with service-based entrepreneurs, I get to show how to make their mess a real, bold and authentic message that they can share.
So many of us are showing up online with a version of ourselves that we “think” others want to see rather then who we really are. I get to show people how to use their real, bold and authentic voice to make an impact that last and for their business to attract their dream clients. Attracting dream clients isn’t just about posting, it’s about intentionality too.
I love showing people how to make your dream clients feel seen, heard and appreciated first before any pitch. In my “Master Your Messaging Method” we break down how to “walk right up” to your dream client online and get in the door to start a real conversation in a fraction of the time from old and tired marketing strategies that get you nowhere. This is where the magic happens that goes deeper than bringing them on as a client.
What should our readers know about your business?
As a former television anchor, I loved the telling stories, especially the underdog stories that we all get the warm and tingly feeling from – that feel GOOD type of feeling! Long story short, the news didn’t like “my kind” meaning the type of person who wanted to inspired and motivate people in a positive way. With that, I was fired from a before & after photo I posted on my own personal profile, which in hindsight was the biggest blessing.. EVER.
When that chapter of being a news anchor closed, I transitioned into the digital marketing space which quickly led me into my true passion of coaching. This is where I really started to see my skills and passions come to life!
I am an On-Camera Confidence Consultant & Strategist. What that means is I get to help service-based entrepreneurs build confidence in their real, bold and authentic voice online. Building an online brand is a must these days and when you are sharing content online, you want it to be memorable, real and intentional to create a last experience for those that come across your profile.
My favorite people to work with are two types – the beginner just getting started and hungry to make a real impact on the world. The second are high achievers that are looking to create a 6-8 figure income utilizing their social media. Both are great to work with as I have been in both stages myself. I know the pain points beginners struggle with (imposter syndrome, comparison.. etc) and with high achievers they really struggle with making lasting connections that go deeper than business (.. however the #1 thing I learned as a news anchor will bring them more business when these entrepreneurs implement my signature strategy!)
I wouldn’t trade my story for anyone else’s and I love that I get to help others feel the same about theirs. Your story is meant to be mentorship to somebody else!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Laguna Beach, CA. It’s a city by the beach like no others and always leave people better than when they first got there.
Here is what I would do to show them a great time..
Day 1 – Take a drive down Pacific Coast Highway into Laguna Beach to capture the beauty of where you will be for the next week. Build the anticipation. Once we arrive, find a cute cafe to grab a bite to each while feeling the ocean breeze flow through your hair.
Day 2 – Start with watching the sunrise on a morning hike at a nearby trail. Yes it’s early, but there is nothing like seeing the sunrise and being able to start your day like that. After the hike, grab coffee and some breakfast by the beach before heading home for a nap, as long as we want since we are on vacation!
Day 3 – Spend the day at the beach soaking up the run, relaxing and catching up on what’s been happening in our lives. Also we brought a picnic lunch with us so we can enjoy as much time as we can enjoying the beautiful 80 degree summer-like weather.
Day 4 – All day at a local spa pampering ourselves! Dinner at a roof top lounge watching the sunset!
Day 5 – Spend the day shopping at the local stores and riding beach cruisers around the city seeing what the area has to offer
Day 6 – Explore any hidden gems that the city is known for to bring in some last minute adventure to tie up a create trip!
Day 7 – Spend any last moments soaking up the ocean breeze before heading to the airport!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Acknowledging the people who helped get you to where you are today is so important. I have SO many people to thank, but a few key players come to mind. First I want to thank Jesus Christ. Without Him, none of this would be possible. Secondly, I would love to thank my first mentors, Michael and Cindy Hedges that showed me what entrepreneurship was like back in 2015. That’s where my drive to work for myself came from! Last but definitely not least, I would like to thank my brother-in-law, Adam Flores. He mentored me and gave me the biggest leg up in my entrepreneurship journey that taught me how to create the business I have today. With Adam’s patience, grace and servant leadership I wouldn’t be the person and business professional that I am today!
