We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Lombardelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique, what do you attribute your success to?
Patience. Patience and tenacity.

There will be many times as an entrepreneur when you feel the stress pile up and you wonder if you can continue. Whether that be making payroll, dealing with difficult employees or difficult clients… Patience with yourself and with the process is everything. Lessons come and go along the way and you grow from them. Never give up, just tweak your company and your way of handling things. It forces you to grow.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Real Estate success for me really started when I focused on the architecture and design of the homes that I specialize in. I am obsessed with Eichler homes and mid-century modern design. The work became effortless and addicting. I think when people focus on what they are so passionate about, the work becomes ten times more enjoyable and clients feel that joy. I had an insatiable need to learn everything about the homes and share this knowledge with others. Your value is everything while working in real estate or any industry. What you give to others turns into profit.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Two of my favorite places are The Rosewood and The Battery for dinner and drinks. The city is full of beautiful fashion shops and cafes. Sitting by the water at WaterBar is also beautiful and people have started to be out and about more. For the outdoorsy types, Mt. Tam is beautiful and there are also nice hikes near Stanford Campus. I have lived in the Bay Area for 16 years and there are so many gorgeous spots. If time permitted, I would take visitors to Carmel by the Sea to show them the adorable shops and the stunning beaches there as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to all the people who have helped Modern Homes along the way. My mentors in the industry have helped me so much and other brokers around the Silicon Valley have been so important while working in this ever changing field. My team has become like family and I am very grateful for them! My family back home, Lolo, Mom and Dad, I am forever grateful for your constant support as well!
