We had the good fortune of connecting with Mosi Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mosi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was a complex yet simple concept. In the beginning I was worry about finances and resources. The hardest part was the beginning because I had an idea where I wanted to be and what I want to accomplish but so many factors came into play when trying to problem solve. From learning about the actual business like getting my LLC and filing taxes and all the jazz AND THEN its the creative side. The marketing and getting your business out there. Last but certainly not least you have to have a dope product your selling. It was so much I had to learn and that I am still learning. Its fun though, I learn something new every day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart rom other is that I like to tap into all of my artistry and try to find ways to make them cohesive. I am a recording artist, designer, and professional dancer. I design my own clothes so I can perform in them whether it be dancing or singing on stage. I have traveled the world and Ive been able to see so many different cultures and people and it help my in every aspect of my art from designs, to sounds, to color palettes. I think I’m most proud of the fact that I was able to take something that I truly believed in and turn it into a career and be able to make a living and travel the world with it. Thats really living the dream. Through that process I learned so much about myself and learned how to be my own manager and consultant. Through my story I want the world and people like me to know that anything you set out to do can be done. Yes it will be hard but the higher the risk the bigger the reward. Nothing is out of reach, set manageable goals to accomplish the bigger goal. When I get old and retire I want to be a beacon of life for people with dreams and goals, give them that drive and inspiration to go out and just do what makes them happy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
SHOOOOOOOTTT!! Hanging out with me is so spontaneous but its a party for sure! Depending on what city we are in, Lets say LA … I could take them to the clubs, which is pretty cliche, but the food spots and açaí bowl spots I found are 10/10. I might even randomly hit the skating rink in Northridge or Glendale area to boogie a lil bit. Beaches and shopping trying new foods and deserts all type of stuff. Im so random I could want to go play basketball and right after want to go paint lol … My mind wonders in all directions. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a BIG shoutout to my Mother, My Grandma, And my beautiful partner in crime Arielle. These three women have been there for me and has encourage me to go behind my limits. They are my #1 support system. In business things can get tough in the worst way and its always good to have people in your corner there when you take those hard blows. I couldn’t have asked for a better support system. Ive also read the book THE POWER OF NOW by Eckhart Tolle.
