Meet Ms J7

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ms J7 and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ms, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first made the decision to step outside of the traditional 9–5 structure and pursue my own path, I remember my entertainment attorney at the time questioning my choices. They asked not only why I wanted to start my own business, but also what my long-term plan would be once my body was no longer able to perform or Coach.
For me, the answers were actually quite clear. I entered this industry later in life, and that transition was deeply connected to a pivotal moment in 2010 when I experienced a personal trauma that fundamentally changed how I viewed the world, the people around me, and my own purpose. That experience pushed me to reevaluate everything and ultimately led me to follow a path rooted in creativity, resilience, and service.
My passion for humanitarian work and advocacy became a driving force behind building my own company. I wanted to create something that was not only entertaining but also meaningful—something that could bring people together, inspire them, and give back to the community.
Shortly after immersing myself in the world of circus and performance, I realized that I didn’t just want to participate in someone else’s vision. I saw that I had the ability to build something of my own—something that could go beyond what I had experienced and expand the possibilities of what entertainment and performance could look like.
Through the performing arts, I’ve had the privilege of turning entertainment into a vehicle for meaningful impact. The work I do has helped contribute to funding water wells in nine different countries, bringing access to clean water to communities in need. I’ve also been involved in advocacy efforts alongside organizations such as Amnesty International, where I’ve worked to help raise awareness and support for critical human rights issues.
In addition, I’ve participated in fundraising initiatives for the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, an organization dedicated to the rescue and protection of orphaned elephants and the preservation of wildlife. Being able to use my platform in the arts to support humanitarian and conservation efforts is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe several factors set me apart.
First, I’ve never viewed my career as a competition with others—only as a continual effort to improve upon my own work and push my own creative limits.
Second, I’ve never allowed outside opinions to dictate my path. I recognize that I cannot control how others perceive me, so I’ve always focused my energy on staying authentic to my vision, my goals and my passions.
Finally, I refused to listen to the many people who tried to discourage me from pursuing my dreams. I was often told I was too old to enter the circus arts and that I didn’t have the traditional background or lifelong training many performers have. Instead of accepting those limitations, I chose to prove that passion, discipline, and determination can create a path where one didn’t previously exist.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of building a career and brand that reflects my personal story and creative vision. My work isn’t just about producing circus-based entertainment—it’s about creating experiences that are imaginative, visually powerful, and emotionally engaging.
How did you get to where you are today?
I got to where I am today through persistence, self-education, and a willingness to take risks. I learned early on that if I wanted something to happen, I needed to take the initiative to make it happen myself. Over time, that mindset helped me develop not only as a performer and athletic coach but also as an entrepreneur, creative producer and casting director.
What challenges did you face along the way?
Like many creative industries, the entertainment world can be extremely competitive. I quickly learned that it can sometimes feel like a “shark-eat-shark” environment, where fame and financial success drive many decisions. That realization helped me become more focused on protecting my creative integrity and building a brand that represents my values rather than chasing trends.
What do you want people to understand about your work?
I want people to understand that I’m not simply running a circus-based entertainment company. We are a full production company and my brand and my story are deeply connected. Everything I create is rooted in personal experience, imagination, and a commitment to inspiring audiences.
What projects are you currently working on?
Producers contact me for specialty entertainment acts for a wide variety of events and productions. We are featured in TV, film, and music videos.
I am often asked to perform Gigantic Bubbles for children parties, baby showers and celebration of life events.
And people from all walks of life are still hiring me to teach them the art of eating fire.
Right now my big ticket projects include casting for a traveling circus production in Canada. At the same time, I’m expanding some of my creative ventures, including producing and selling my custom bubble mixture and bubble wands.
For those interested in purchasing MsJ7’s Magnificent Bubble Mixture please send me a message on Instagram or LinkedIn.
Over the past few years, I’ve also discovered a deep love for writing. I’m currently working on a book about a personal tragedy that profoundly changed my life in Nov of 2024.
In addition, I’ve written my first children’s book, which is now in the illustration phase of production. The two characters I created for that story have also been pitched to Pop Mart, so I’m very excited to see where that opportunity may lead.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego offers such a wide variety of experiences that it’s one of my favorite places to share with visiting friends. I love starting with the city’s rich history by strolling through Old Town, where you can explore the historic streets, eat some authentic Mexican food and stop into landmarks like the Whaley House. From there, the city’s energy shifts into the vibrant nightlife of the Gaslamp Quarter—places like the Andaz and the Hard Rock Hotel offer a great atmospheres to experience the downtown scene.
During the day, Balboa Park is always a must. Walking through the Japanese Friendship Garden is a beautiful and peaceful experience, and it’s a perfect way to appreciate the cultural and natural beauty of the area. For a little relaxation and fun, spending time in the California sunshine at the lazy river at Sycuan Casino Resort, perhaps with a quick stop at the roulette table, is always enjoyable.
Seaport Village is another favorite stop, especially for the waterfront views, local shops, and the talented street performers and buskers who bring so much character to the area. A visit to La Jolla to see the sea lions along the coast is also a must, followed by a memorable meal at The Marine Room.
For something a bit more playful, Belmont Park is a fun stop. We start off with taking a ride on the wooden roller coaster, a few bumper cars and then trying our efforts at the escape rooms and arcade games. We would likely end the day browsing the farmers market in Ocean Beach, which has such a wonderful community feel. I’d probably also convince them to try a bungee fitness class with Marie Brown—it’s unique, energetic, and always a great experience.
When it comes to dining and or eating out, San Diego has an incredible food scene, and there are several local spots I always recommend. Morning Glory, Juniper and Iy, the Hash House, the Old Spaghetti House, Hodad’s in Ocean Beach, Doggos Gus and Meze Greek Fusion.
As someone who is passionate about animal rights, and ending animal slavery in the entertainment industry, I personally choose not to visit popular attractions such as the zoo or SeaWorld. Instead, I prefer to encourage conversations about wildlife conservation and ethical ways to appreciate animals in their natural environments. For me, part of sharing a city with others is also sharing the values and awareness that are important to me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would first dedicate my story to God, my higher power, who I believe is the primary guiding force in my life. Each day I feel blessed with His love, guidance, and encouragement to grow into a better version of myself and to serve others through the work that I do.
Any success I have experienced is not something I attribute to myself alone. I believe it is the result of faith, perseverance, and the incredible people I’ve been fortunate enough to create and collaborate with along the way. I strongly believe that there is no “I” in team. Meaningful accomplishments are built through community, shared vision, and the support of a tribe of like-minded individuals who inspire one another.
I would also like to recognize and give praise to the incredibly talented performers, producers, and creative teams behind Cirque Du Soleil. While living in Las Vegas for several years—long before I ever imagined stepping into the world of circus myself—I attended as many Cirque shows as I possibly could. Each performance was filled with such imaginative artistry and extraordinary athleticism that it left a lasting impression on me.
Watching those productions, I remember feeling completely captivated by the magic of it all. It sparked something in me. I realized that I didn’t just want to sit in the audience and admire the experience—I wanted to be part of that world and contribute to that sense of wonder.
At the time, however, I truly believed that circus arts were something people were born into, perhaps through a family tradition or a lifetime of specialized training. I never imagined that one day I would be introduced to the circus community in San Diego, let alone find myself pursuing and living out my own version of that dream.
I would also like to recognize Tammy FireFly and Cheetah Platt, who played an important role in my journey. They introduced me to a way of living and creating that truly resonated with me and helped shape the path I chose to pursue.
