Meet mtp408 | Music Producer/Artist/Songwriter/Engineer

We had the good fortune of connecting with mtp408 and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi mtp408, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I know I should keep going when I have people depending on me to be successful. My true core; my supporters, my fans, and my family are all counting on me. It’s very motivational to keep going when I know I have a lot of support. Of course, as an artist, I do tend to feel like giving up, but I know deep down inside that’s not the best choice. I have to keep going; I don’t ever want to give up what I love to do. I have a lot to contribute to the world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is a representation of who I am and what I have seen and been through and where I come from. I think I’m set apart from others because I don’t think too much about others when it comes to what I do in the music industry; I worry about myself and do my own thing. When I sit down in my home studio in my bedroom, I create magic. My musical ability/skills are beyond me and beyond the earth; it comes from god. I was born for this; I was made to make music. I adopted my very own sound. I create my musical art all by myself, including but not limited to: producing, rapping, singing, songwriting, mixing, mastering, recording, managing, touring, marketing, etc. The best part of it all is I love what I do. I don’t do all of this for money. I don’t do all of that for fame. I create music and I do everything myself because I feel it’s the best thing for me to do. However, it is not easy. Often times, I just make it look easy because I am slightly talented above average. I faced some challenges and setbacks, but if I explain all that, I’d probably be here all day. I go with the flow. I want the world to know that you could do anything you put your mind to. You could get anything you want and or need; you just have to work for it. It’s going to take some time. Good things take time. Nothing worth having comes easy. Once you get it though, it’s going to last forever. Go out there and get it. Pray for it. Wait for it. Obtain it. Claim it. The world is yours.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my opinion, since I’m a simple guy, I like the Griffith Observatory, so I’d probably start off by taking my best friend there. There’s nothing more peaceful than a trip to the hills overlooking the city and experiencing some good vibes. As far as food is concerned, we’d probably stop at one of my favorite taco spots “Tacos La Guera” on Soto Street. Next, we’d visit the beach at Santa Monica. Additionally, we’d stay at the Mondrian hotel and have some fun there. Later on, me and my best friend would check out the walk of fame in Hollywood, then probably drive around downtown to look at the buildings. Nothing too fancy, nothing too dry. Just a little getaway with mtp408.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my family members. My mom and dad. Along with god and the angels watching over me in heaven. I love all of them so much, and none of my success would be possible without at least one of them. Thank you all so much for everything.
