We had the good fortune of connecting with Myriam Brough and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myriam, what makes you happy? Why?
My work as a producer! From the development of a documentary project, to writing, filming and broadcasting. Seeing the public discover it on the big screen is a joy. Living from passion is a luxury…

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was a print journalist for a long time. I was lucky enough to travel the world and interview a lot of film people, and then one day while investigating Marilyn Monroe, I got the urge to see the studios, the sets of her life. So I fell in love with this town and decided to produce films. It was a hard, crazy thing to do, but I tried… and it worked. It was hard to arrive and to dare in this city and this environment. Patience, passion and hard work is one of the secrets. all this takes years.Doing all these festivals, getting credit and recognition is a long road. Receiving the Best Documentary 2022 award for Roger Corman at the Beverly Hills Festival, premiering at the Santa Barbara Festival or Palm Springs Festival, and a a great recognition for my Compagny California Prod.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This city is full of magical places. I am above all a nature lover: so hikes in the unmissable Griffith park, don’t miss the sunset at Zuma beach. I made my dream come true last year by climbing at Joshua tree. Gorgeous. Vintage shoping in Melrose, a drink at Mama Shelter (great view) a nice Korean food at Park’s BBQ. of course, a visit universal studio is necessary!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Hollywood cinema from the silent era to the present day. The desire to discover more about its history. So I specialized in documentaries about the 7th art. We shot over 12 documentaries on the subject for French television. From Harpo Marx to Marylin, the history of musicals etc… we’ve been lucky enough to have received awards. The last one was for the documentary “Roger Corman, the pope of pop cinema” on TUBI.TV. This great man is a legend who has opened his doors to us and so his heart.
