Meet Myriam Knepper | Food blogger, influencer and recipe creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Myriam Knepper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myriam, why did you pursue a creative career?
I love everything about food, from putting the ingredients together to make something delicious to the final plating. Food is my passion and my art. I want to inspire others to get creative in the kitchen. This is why I chose to pursue what some may consider a creative path. It is my hope to teach people to eat healthy while having fun through the creation of something that is both simple and beautiful.

The thing that brings me joy is how, through food, I can bring family and friends together around a table to enjoy a nutritious and tasty meal, share laughs, and build memories together.

The inspiration behind my love for food is my Grandmother. She was not a trained chef and never followed a recipe. She cooked with instinct and pure love. This came through in all her delicious meals that I remember eating while growing up.

Through the years I have enjoyed entertaining and cooking for my family and friends; hosting birthdays, holidays, or just happy hour. Therefore, I decided to start Dishplay_it so that I could share my cooking adventures, recipes, and love for food with recipes and plating tips that everyone can do at home. I want to provide people with inspiration.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create recipes that people can make in their home everyday. I’m a busy working mom so I focus on meals that are simple and nutritious.

There is a focus on using organic and as close to farm-to-table as possible ingredients. I try to do this on budget provide people with tips and product recommendations within my recipe videos. Finally, I show people how to plate the recipe so that every meal can be a fun and special experience. Simple, healthy, and fun…I think that sets me apart from others and I’m proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish so far.

I’m still very much growing my presence through social media and my website. Every journey starts with one step. In my case, it began with one post. Building and growing my brand has not been easy, but it has been fun. This is my passion and my art and sharing it to a growing audience is an amazing experience and outweighs any challenges by far.

I’ve learned to never give up. If you have a dream, keep pushing forward. I hope that my brand inspires people to create in the kitchen and share delicious and healthy food and fun with their family and friends.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is a beautiful destination and a melting pot of cultures. I love the many amazing places to visit, eat, hike, and have fun. When my family or friends come for the first time, I will definitely treat them to a home cooked meal, Dishplay_it style, but during the day I will take them sight seeing. The first stop would be the Santa Monica Pier and its many attractions. Then we’d head over to Beverly Hills to visit Rodeo Drive and the iconic Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Some of my favorite restaurants here are Spagos, Animal, Wally’s, and The Rooftop by JG at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. A drive on the PCH to catch the Sunset at the Malibu Pier or drinks at Mastros in Malibu would also be at the top of the list. My other favorite spots to tour would be the Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Chinese Theater and the famous Dolby Theater, home the Oscars. A visit to The Grove to check out the farmers market and ride the trolley would complete the day. Finally, a fun night out in West Hollywood and drinks at Chateau Marmont’s Bar Marmont would be an amazing end to the day.

I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband, Jesse, for his unconditional love, support, guidance, and always believing that I can do anything I set my mind on doing. To my sons, Joseph and Nicholas, for being my recipe testers and food critics. And to the rest of my family for always loving my recipes and supporting my cooking adventures.
