We had the good fortune of connecting with Nabeel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nabeel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Coming from a business oriented family I tried my hands on different industries as my family was involved in Healthcare, IT, hospitality, etcetera. I found my happiness and comfort in Events and Film Making.

I started my agency, Solitary Queen Studios with the aim of being the change in the market that people crave to experience. Be if it’s filmmaking or events I always wanted to be different from others. I have always been a curious child, always asking questions and always trying to make the impossible, possible.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Firstly, choosing filmmaking as a career or passion even wasn’t really easy for me. Coming from a business background and a family filled with doctors, engineers and lawyers, it was one hell of a ride for my family to accept my passion. I was 18 when I realized my love for storytelling and I hoped to bring a change in a person’s life through my way of storytelling. I always used to come up with concepts and narratives that was different from a normal person’s way of thinking and to bring it live on the big screen was a journey. Secondly, challenges were plenty, my first feature was an unplanned baby during Covid-19, there were restrictions to shoot and it took us months to obtain a permit to shoot. Despite the pandemic and other hurdles we managed to finish the shoot in 28 days straight shifts with many talented actors and technicians from Bahrain. Cut to 2024, I have 4 projects in pipeline which are planned to go on floors by the mid of 2025 collaborating with popular production companies from Bollywood.

The lesson I have managed to learn is this that, everything has its time and when the right time clicks, it will definitely find its way to you no matter what the circumstances are. I want the world to know my stories, I chose filmmaking not for the fame but for the beautiful journey and experience it gives to you. I dream of becoming one of the game changers of the industry and I want people to watch and relate to my storytelling.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, Bahrain is an island with minimal places to see or visit. What I would do to give them the best time is by taking them around the country in my car with the best music, visiting the circuit and ending it by catching the sunset by the airport. Throughout the journey I would make sure for them to experience the culture of Bahrain, the popular Bahraini breakfast with some Karak Chai and some Oman Chips sandwich.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this to my mother, who has always taught me to be selfless and fight for what you love and has stood by my like a rock. Then my father and my brother, Who has always had my back when I used to get lost. Mehdi, my other brother and a fellow artist who always supports, guides me to explore within myself to come out with the best projects. Lastly, Nebal, my best friend and someone who has been my art partner whenever it’s a script, a concept or to discuss my plans he would always pitch in ideas to make it better and always looks out for me since school.
