We had the good fortune of connecting with Napoleon Highbrou and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Napoleon, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks is honesty what defined me a whole. I honestly feel like getting into acting as a career is a risk in itself. But beyond that, had I not taken risks within my journey. I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am today. A word of advice I would give for risk taking, is take calculated risks. Be ready for either outcome and go into it with the highest possible chance of success. Work on yourself so the day you have to take a risk, you’ll be prepared.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When it comes to my art, I’d say what sets me apart from others is the amount of myself I put into my work. When I’m blessed with the opportunity to play a role, whether whatever kind of character it is. I find a piece of me that relates to that character in some way. That way I can give the most authentic performance possible. I got to where I am through a lot of grit, determination, persistence, and a smidge of luck. It’s definitely not easy and what makes you overcome the challenges is your love for the art. If you don’t love it, it will be almost impossible for you to the enjoy the journey.

A lesson I’ve learned is to treat everyone with kindness and respect. I’ve come across tons of people who went from being a PA to a producer on a future project. If you treat rhat PA like trash, it just may come back to bite you.

I want the world to know that I’m just a man trying to be the best version of myself. Where that ranks me amongst everyone isn’t my concern.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d definitely take them to this karaoke bar called player one in North Hollywood. The vibes are always amazing and I’ve met some really cool people there. Now as for food, we’re going to Louders in Downtown LA, the food there is simply immaculate. But if I had to say the most exciting place to check out, it’d have to be Disneyland of course.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my mom. Starting out when I didn’t have any reliable transportation, my mom had days where she would wait outside for me for hours whether i was filming or at a audition. She made my life a whole lot easier and has supported me throughout my journey.
