We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalia Aldacour-La Borie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalia, what do you attribute your success to?
We are a small family owned coffee roaster, trained by Italians, where our main focus is dark roast. With 28 years of experience, we have the unique privilege to source our beans from different parts of the world. This allows us to explore different varieties and share some very unique fields while still reaching a broad audience. We continue to hand roast our beans are deliver them nation wide several times a week. Since we are own middle man as buyer and roaster this translates into price value while delivering our customer a incredible product. The costs we are able to save allows us to be a liaison with the animal rescued world bring them much need attention and funds. Most of our customer love the fact that they know where their money is going. Helping small local rescues in communities across the country. This gives us enormous pride and sense of purpose. The combination of these two makes our business model unique, different, and successful knowing every cup we deliver makes a difference.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
It was not easy! opening a business with little cash flow in the City of LA, but with a lot of determination and perseverance it was possible. The business model was right, but as we starter growing we had to make changes to keep us on the right track. Our biggest lesson would be that there are good days and bad days, but if at the end of the week/ month we can count some positives, we are on the right track. When you first open is hard to not compare yourself with the big players, but even them, had good and bad… so stay tune with the environment, know who your customer is, and just “keep swimming. ,
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
