Meet Natalie Girard | Actress & Singer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Girard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Being an artist is an intrinsic part of who I am, it’s not just a career path, but the lens through which I view the world. I approach life with a sense of curiosity, always wondering what drives people, what makes them tick, and what shapes their life experience. As an actress and singer, I’ve learned to step into perspectives different than my own and experience the world through their eyes. So every role and every song teaches me something new about myself and the world around me. These pieces shape not only my art, but also how I approach life and every endeavor I take.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a storyteller. Art is my way of expressing myself, connecting with others, and understanding the world around me. What sets me apart is my dedication to exploring the universal truths of being human and allowing my own unique story to color my creative choices. I’m most proud of the resilience I’ve built and the vulnerability I’m willing to share. My goal is to create art that reminds people of our shared humanity and inspires them to live bravely in their imperfections and in their vulnerability. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been meaningful.
I’ve studied hard, committed myself to my craft, and worked on projects that I’ve been madly in love with, as well as gigs that weren’t glamorous, but were necessary to support my creative career. I’ve lived in NYC and now LA, where I’ve felt the weight and fear of starting anew, faced rejection countless times, and experienced the thrill of achieving my goals.
What I’ve learned is that life is about how you choose to show up and the experiences you seek. There’s so much power in learning, growing, and embracing the messy, beautiful process of being human and that’s exactly what I aim to bring to my work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting LA for a week, I’d plan a mix of iconic experiences and local favorites to give them a perfect blend. We’d probably start every day at Courage Bagels, best bagels in LA and totally worth the hype!
Next, I’d take them for a hike at Griffith Observatory. It’s such a quintessential LA experience. It has great views of the city and you get to see the Hollywood sign. Another afternoon would be dedicated to exploring The Broad Museum, one of my favorite contemporary museums. It features works by Jean-Michel Basquiat and other incredible artists! ( A fantastic place to get inspired!)
For lunch, I’d take them to Tacos Manzano in North Hollywood, my go-to taco spot. No trip to LA is complete without a beach day, so we’d spend some time in Malibu. Then, grab a lobster roll at Broad Street Oyster Company. The mussels are also a must try!
The best way to wrap up any LA trip is at The Comedy Store! Iconic.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron and the many incredible creative women I’ve met and worked with along my journey. They constantly remind me that being an artist is a powerful and meaningful way to live. I deeply admire their storytelling, their ability to let inspiration flow through them, and their courage to live confidently in their unique perspectives. I read the book in college and learned two practices that have helped me get through some challenging times, journaling and “artist dates”. It taught me that creativity thrives when you nourish it and filling my creative well is not just important, but essential.
