We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Michaud & Paige Pieroni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie & Paige, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
We’re still in the process of perfecting our work-life balance, but sticking to a schedule has been incredibly helpful. Some days The Murder Diaries consumes all our waking hours, because it’s just the two of us doing everything. From managing our social media to designing our upcoming merch line to researching cases to recording our weekly episodes (and every little thing in between), we have a lot on our plates. However, some days we accomplish all our podcast and business to-dos and still have time to relax and watch an episode or two of Forensic Files. It’s a balancing act, but we’re beyond grateful to get to work with each other doing something we love!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
True crime is having a moment right now. New podcasts and tv shows are popping up left and right, and the victims of the cases covered are often glossed over. That’s a big no-no for us at The Murder Diaries. We’re not telling these stories for the shock value or to pay homage to the countless murderers in the world. We want to give the victims a voice, a chance to tell their stories. And for us that means the victims are more than a murder story. They’re real people who had hopes and dreams before evil robbed them. We may not always say the “right” thing, but we’re trying and learning every day. We also do our best to incorporate that mentality into our brand. We promote mental health and choose to look at the bright side of life, which is evident to everyone who visits our social media.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Now that we’re in our thirties, our idea of fun has shifted from the LA nightlight to brunch and a hike to the Hollywood sign… and preferably not on the same day. We like to keep things low key and casual, but never boring. Here’s a list of some of favorite spots and activities: – Explore the Getty Center and a nap on the grassy hill afterward – Griffith Observatory at dusk for views of the LA streets and/or the stars along with some wine – Hollywood Forever Cemetery for an outdoor movie with friends – Brunch at the Row in DTLAThe Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others.
