We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalis, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Getting into the habit of self care has really helped me thrive. I learned a lot about setting boundaries, creating routines that improved my overall wellness, I let go of toxic people, places and things that were not in alignment with the vision I had for my life after really thinking about what I want. This created the space for healing to take place, for creativity to flow and the opportunity for me to attract what is meant for me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Growing up, I was exposed to a wide spectrum of musical genres, having a father who was a DJ and salsa percussionist. The musical influences instilled in me at a very young age, come through my creative process. I like to consider myself a genre bending artist, having released music in Pop, R&B, Gospel, Salsa, Dance, Tropical House, Funk House & Reggaeton in multiple languages (English, Spanish & Portuguese). I don’t like being boxed in, my listeners enjoy that I have a wide variety of music.
In 2021, I was considered for a Grammy in 4 different categories across 2 genres. I don’t believe any other independent artist has achieved that.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I currently live in Albuquerque, NM. When my friends are in town, I like to take them to a spa called Ten Thousand Islands in Intimacy Mountain, Santa Fe. I enjoy activities that are relaxing and help heal mind, body and spirit.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mentor and producer David Anthony has played a paramount role in the artist I am becoming. His advice, his teachings, his belief in me and his consistency pushes me to higher levels as a creative being. I would not be where I’m at in my career today if it was not for his contributions.
