We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natasha, what inspires you?
I’ve always been drawn to faces and people. I love making people feel good and seen and I achieve that by creating an environment thats comfortable and loving. I like to think of my photography sessions as a creative collaboration where I support and give you the tools to capture images that let your inner light shine. On my journey of life I’m always looking for ways to help others and in headshot photography you’re dealing with peoples dreams and aspirations. The actor or entrepreneur is choosing me to help them get to the next level and I’m always honored when I get that opportunity.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art stems from my love of bringing people joy. I have been building my business slowly and mostly using word of mouth as my marketing because it’s important to me that I grow at a pace that allows me to keep my integrity. I want you to trust that I’m here to help you reach your goals and do it in a way that uplifts and reminds you of the power you have within. The path I’ve chosen is slower and perhaps I could push myself a little further but I’m happy with what I’ve been able to accomplish so far and most importantly I’ve stayed true to myself. Part of my core values is making sure that I’m continuously sharpening up on my photography skills and paying attention to the industry you are pursuing so I can stay up to date with what’s new. My brand is about making you feel taken care of and safe to express your authentic self. I want you to walk away from the experience with joy in your heart and a pep in your step because you know you just rocked it. I’m proud to say that what I set out to achieve has been the experience my clients received and it has been extremely rewarding.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im OC based and I’ve been LA adjacent my whole life so I may not know all the hidden gems of LA but back when everything was open before covid I would want to take them to things I enjoy about LA. I would take them to an improv show at one of the major improv schools. As a movie and theme park fan I’d want to take them to Universal studios and maybe even the WB studio tour. I always have a good time at Good times at Davey Wayne’s so I’d want to take them there for some 70’s music and fun drinks. I have a friend who performs as a dancer in a show located at Harvelle’s night club in, Santa Monica on Sunday nights that has a cool sexy vibe and since we’re there I might as well take them to the pier for some funnel cake.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh man! There are so many people that I owe credit to but, someone was there from the beginning of my photography journey and that is my best friend and actor, Shane Cervantes. Shane, has been encouraging and promoting me since the beginning, he never misses an opportunity to shout me out. I’ve gotten to meet a lot of my clients through word of mouth and many have come from, Shane’s referral. I’m extremely grateful to him and to all of my family and friends who continually show me love and support it truly means the world to me and I hope you know who you are.
