We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha McCrea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natasha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I’m now living the life I have designed for myself, not the one I was handed. Taking risks is the one tool that has taken me the furthest in love, life and relationships. With failed marriages and businesses under my belt taking risks is what gave me the strength to get back up, identify what I really want out of life and achieve my goals. Taking risks is what allowed me to build a successful business, tour a one woman show, take a film to Cannes Film Festival, coach my kid into a full ride scholarship to college as a single mother, and find the love of my life. When taking risks became a practice I finally began to live out loud.

In business, the inability to take risks is one of the core reasons it takes much longer to find your voice and make a profit in business. Taking risks is what will make you stand out from the crowd. Whether it is a risk in color scheme, a marketing campaign or how you dress to attract your ideal clients it’s imperative you find your voice. This is also major in your personal life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I founded Love CEO Institute to help women reconnect to their deepest desires.

Imagine your life where…You know what self-love really feels like. You have clear goals. You are loving life. Your friends are asking, “can I have whatever she’s drinking.” And, the pleasure of life is a regular occurrence. In my Love CEO Academy our members receive the guidance, coaching and life skills to do just that. Our core focus is awakening your Love Intelligence.

Love intelligence is an array of characteristics and behaviors that displays compassion for one’s self and others. It’s the ability to perceive, understand, express and receive love. It’s like emotional intelligence on steroids. When you awaken your love intelligence, loving life becomes a lifestyle, you can reconnect to your most authentic goals, you build genuine confidence and you call in more love. That’s my wish for every woman. This is why teaching the Love Intelligence Method is my priority.

When I was a kid I never seemed to fit in. I was always in between two worlds. This seemed to be the case when I went into business too, because I am a multi-passionate business woman with more than one expression of my creativity.

Being a multi-passionate business woman comes with its challenges. When I first started I would try to compartmentalize myself and that does not work for me. Also one of the biggest challenges I had was hiring a team. In order to do all the things that I do I had to become a master delegator, a skill I am still developing.

I am very proud of the fact that I have not let the concept of “you have to do one thing” stop me. In the process of doing the work I do it has allowed my personal desires to continue to unfold. Whether it’s acting, directing my first documentary, starting a podcast (My HOElistic Life) or developing the Jackson McCrea Whiskey Label my work continues to feed my soul so I can personally design the life I want as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Everything I do revolves around food. So when my friend gets to town it’s a full blown food tour.

Monday morning we hang out in Playa Del Rey on the beach. Then we have brunch at Playa Provisions. We walk it off at Century City Mall for a little shopping and catch happy hour at Javiers before heading home for a relaxing evening.

Tuesday we take a late morning hike in Topanga Canyon and on the way home we stop at Bay Cities Deli to grab Godmother Sandwiches. We relax at home until evening and then out to Gracias Madres on Melrose for Taco Tuesdays.

Wednesday is classic Hollywood Day, The Hollywood Sign Hike, Hollywood Boulevard and Lunch at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles, then a relaxing evening in.

Thursday – The Academy Museum and LACMA – Dinner at Jon & Vinnys

Friday – Mani Pedi(s) and an Early Dinner at La Boucherie at the Intercontinental in downtown.

Saturday – The Getty Museum and Dinner at Hatchet Hall

Sunday – Brunch at Margot and a visit to Venice Beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I dedicate this shout out to my Ancestors. They paved the way for me to be here, in this very moment. The tenacity and boldness that runs through my veins is undeniable because of them. Everything my mother, grandmother, great grandmother and her mother have overcome got me to this point.

My parents instilled in me that I can do anything. So where I am today is a direct reflection of that principle. My husband who comes along for the ride of all my shenanigans. My kid who always inspires me to be authentically me.
