We had the good fortune of connecting with Nathaniel Villanueva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nathaniel, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Having a patient centered focus has been the key to growing our practice and brand at The Plastic Surgery Institute. I am extremely passionate about what I am privileged to do on a daily basis and the patient and their experience is the center of everything. By having this philosophy in our practice, we have been able to have significant growth through word of mouth which has been wonderful. Patients share their experience with our team, from the moment they contact to the office to their final follow up visit we do everything to ensure we not only meet our patients’ expectations but exceed them with world class luxury care.

What should our readers know about your business?
At the Plastic Surgery Institute we place patients first. Everything that we do is geared towards the patients having a wonderful experience. In addition, we are most proud of the fact that we offer state of the art surgical options for cosmetic surgery patients. As a board certified plastic surgeon, I am also proud to say that patient safety is our top priority and we do everything to ensure safe and beautiful outcomes. We have achieved our current success through excellent patient care and outstanding cosmetic results which lead to more referrals. Growing a practice is not easy because it takes time. The key to overcoming growth challenges have been consistency with our goal of taking great care of patients. Some of the lessons I have learned along the way are that forcing growth just leads to excess spending and little return. There is no magic key that will make a practice expand overnight. But the one thing that holds true is that being kind and really listening to all of our patients goals has consistently led to growth of the practice. The most important thing that we would like the world to know about the Plastic Surgery Institute is that we provide world class care and state of the art aesthetic surgery procedures but make our patients feel at home with our individual attention to detail and making ourselves available to our patients at all times.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first start the day with a nice hike a Runyon Park to watch the sun wake up the beautiful city of Los Angeles. I would then recommend getting some coffee at Alfreds. Then maybe a walk down Rodeo Drive and see the latest fashion trends. I would recommend lunch at Il Pastaio. Then maybe a drive down PCH and finish off the day with Dinner at Nobu in Malibu.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize all of my wife, family, friends, colleagues and patients that have helped and supported me throughout my entire career. I would also specifically like to recognize my business partner Ritu Chopra, MD for allowing me to be a part of this practice and trusting that I would be an ideal surgeon to continue in the tradition of the world class aesthetic surgical care that the Plastic Surgery Institute provides.
