Meet Nelly Castañeda: Film Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nelly Castañeda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nelly, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Im originally from Mexico city, born from a Mexican mother and Colombian father.

Latino cultures diversity has helped me learn and understand other cultures

It has also opened many opportunities in the US, specially through other Latinos that have felt more in home to there culture through our work

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a film, television producer, Director of the Baja California International Film Festival, and president of the creative industries in Tj,my parents are from Mexico and Colombia, I was born in Mexico City, since I was very young I moved to Los Angeles California, I started working in the music industry at Fonovisa Records and on television at Channels like NBC, Telemundo, Channel 22, Univision Miami, MTV among others, I appreciate that coming from a Latino family helped me to open my mind and empathize with people from other cultures and thus unite through art. My husband who is my partner and I have worked very hard to achieve what thank God we have to have the position in which we find ourselves, I was excited to know that in that way I can help future generations who love the world of entertainment, my My goal is always shared and my greatest success is knowing how to do it as a team, understanding that we all have different gifts and knowing how we can add and continue to grow. Since I went to live in Los Angeles I understood that we live in a world of migrants where you live and work with people of all nationalities and that we must do and give the best of ourselves to improve the place where we live, the values ​​of my brand are teamwork, love for family, union with friends, knowing how to share and we always seek to give a good message in the content we do, and never forget something very important to be grateful to those who trusted us and help us fulfill our goals. ———————-
Soy productora de cine, televisión,Directora del Festival Internacional de cine Baja California International Film Festival y presido la comisión de Industrias creativas para Tijuana, mis padres son de Mexico y Colombia, naci en La Ciudad de Mexico, desde que era muy joven me mude a Los Angeles California, inicie trabajando en la industria de la música en Fonovisa Records y en la televisión en canales como NBC,Telemundo, canal 22, Univision Miami,MTV entre otros, agradezco que el venir de una familia latína me ayudo para abrir mi mente y empatizar con la gente de otras culturas y así unirnos por medio del arte. Mi esposo quien es mi socio y yo hemos trabajado muy dura para lograr lo que gracias a Dios tenemos tener la posición en la que nos encontramos, me entusiasme saber que de esa manera puedo ayudar a las futuras generaciones que aman el mundo del entretenimiento, mi meta siempre es compartida y mi mayor éxito es saber hacerlo en equipo, entender que todos tenemos dones distintos y saber de que manera podemos sumar y seguir creciendo. Desde que me fui a vivir a Los Angeles entendí que vivimos en un mundo de migrantes donde convives y trabajas con personas de todas las nacionalidades y que debemos hacer y dar lo mejor de nosotros para mejorar el lugar donde vivimos, los valores de mi marca son el trabajo en equipo, amor por la familia, la union con los amigos, saber compartir y buscamos siempre dar un buen mensaje en el contenido que hacemos, y jamas olvidar algo muy importante ser agradecido con quienes confiaron en nosotros y nos ayudan a cumplir nuestras metas.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends visit me, I take them to see the emblematic places of the city, if I am in Los Angeles we have breakfast at the Portos Cuban Pastry, then I take them to see the walk of the stars in Hollywood, they know the museums and the best places entertainment, then I would take them to Santa Monica for a walk on the pier and also enjoy the beautiful view of the beach and the beautiful nature of the sea.

Los Angeles will always have a unique and special magic, you meet people from all over the world, you can go to family places, as a couple, with friends and you will always find a range of incredible places to meet and have fun.

Its people, its architecture, its majesty and creativity will always make it an incomparable place, where dreams and magic never end, where you experience movie moments.

Cuando mis amigos me visitan los llevo a que conozcan los lugares emblematicos la ciudad, si estoy en Los Angeles desayunamos en la Pastelería Cubana Portos, después me los llevo a conocer el paseo de las estrellas en Hollywood, que conozcan los museos y los mejores lugares de entretenimiento, después me los llevaría a Santa Monica a caminar en el muelle y que también disfruten lo hermoso de la vista de la playa y la naturaleza hermosa del mar.

Los Angeles siempre tendrá una magia única y especial, conoces gente de todo el mundo, puedes ir a lugares familiares, en pareja, con amigos y siempre encontraras un abanico de lugares increíbles para conocer y divertirte.

Su gente, su arquitectura, su majestuosidad y creatividad lo harán siempre ser un lugar incomparable, donde los sueños y la magia nunca terminan, donde vive momentos de película.
