We had the good fortune of connecting with Nestor Aguilar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nestor, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I truly believe that an important factor behind my success as both a Real Estate Agent and Social Media Influencer, is that everything I do revolves around giving value and coming from a place of contribution. I’m passionate about making a difference in my community and building genuine relationships within it.

What should our readers know about your business?
Everything all started with an idea during the pandemic in quarantine. I just couldn’t sit there. So I asked my self, what can I do to bring value and put my self out there during these challenging time. So I started writing down my ideas and brainstormed different ways to approach the community, and that’s when The 818 Insider was born. I created The 818 Insider to be a platform to showcase all the amazing places and things to do in the San Fernando Valley through video content. I started interviewing local small business owners and sharing their stories. It then evolved to creating the first food festival in the San Fernando Valley called The Valley Fest. Another platform to bring together all the small businesses in the community and showcase them to the Valley and beyond.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s a great question! The San Fernando Valley is truly filled with hidden gems and amazing places to visit. I would say go follow me on Instagram @the818insider to see all the amazing places i’ve showcased.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe all my success to all my social media followers and the San Fernando Valley community, every single one who has believed and supported my vision of putting The Valley on the map and supporting small businesses. The 818 Insider was built for the community by the community.
