We had the good fortune of connecting with NiCale Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NiCale, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Independence. Having the freedom of independence to create, build and expand without limitations or restrictions is the ultimate backbone of my success. Not only as an individual, but for my artists and talent as well. Being a manager to independent music artists who top Billboard charts, maximize their streaming numbers while keeping their creativity, and expand their network with like-minded creatives and professionals to allow growth beyond their career is the heart of my brand, CRUZ Management™.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company, CRUZ Management™, is a unique, complete entertainment company that encompasses artist management, music promotion, public relations, bookings, and more. For over a decade, I have collaborated with some of the most influential celebrities, including Grammy award winning artists and music producers, actors and film directors.

From a hustling club promoter in my early twenties to an owner of a diverse entertainment company, I have experienced many hardships as well as successes, but I value and appreciate them all the same. I have learned that perseverance, dedication and application will get further in this business, even more than my Bachelor’s degree. There are so many aspects to this industry that cannot be learned from a book. You must experience it and navigate your own way; if you want it enough, you’ll make it happen.

As an independent and strong afro-Latina woman, I have taken so much pride in being a successful in a male-dominated industry. Although, I never allow success to bring complacency. I always strive to expand my knowledge and expertise with foresight and dedication.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my artists – the hard-working, diligent, beyond talented and most deserving, Johan Marquis, TMCXJ, and LaToya Chenelle.
