We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had been freelancing as a Makeup Artist for a few years and was giving away bookings due to me being booked. At the same time helping a few models I had worked with manage their way through the modeling agency. The foundation for FUSE MGT began there and has grown into something truly amazing.

My goal and thought process was to build a boutique agency where the focus is on cultivating a team of creatives to build themselves as a brand and work together to create magic!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My love for makeup began when I was a competitive figure skater and ballet dancer as a young child. I took that passion and used it to build my career as an Esthetician and Makeup Artist while attending Academy of Hair Design. I was attending school as a single mom and managing both at the same was a struggle, but i have an excellent support system made of of my friends and family. I am really lucky. I continue to further my learning every year by updating my product knowledge, and perfecting my craft through creative shoots and continuing education. You can never stop learning.

In 2020 I opened FUSE MGT, a week before quarantine, (that was fun!) with the goal in mind to aid other artists in becoming the best in their field. I balances my time working in various sectors of the industry as i am still a working Pro Makeup Artist and Esthetician as well. I work side by side with my team on gigs and with our amazing clients.

I have had the opportunity to create some amazing art and any time my work or my teams work is published or captured, is so exciting! I was thrilled to see my makeup gracing the red carpet at the Grammys this year. That was a really special moment for me recently.

What sets me apart I think is that I really care about each team member and involved in their personal lives as well. They are family and I hope to always keep FUSE MGT that way. I make sure we only sign enough artists and models to keep everyone working. I don’t want to be an agency that has so much talent signed that I don’t know who they are or how their journey to their goal is going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a shoutout to my team. Every single one of them is so talented and inspiring! They are the backbone of the agency and drive me to keep going.

I owe another Boss Babe for helping me lay the foundation of the agency and being my biggest support and information source. She guides me through the tough times and the happy times of entrepreneurship and runs a successful business well! Ashley Carty from Carty Media is heaven sent and has become a mentor and close friend.

Another person who is a sounding board when making business decisions is William Ziemann. William owns Lionspride Photography and is one of FUSE MGT’s Lead Photographers. He has believed in my vision and understands my goals with the agency from day one. Even when I frantically call him for advice, he is always there or when I need advice and to remind me of our goals from time to time.
