We had the good fortune of connecting with Nie Samone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I initially started brainstorming an idea to actually sell Human Hair Extensions, I had a name a brand & more it was called Elegant Tresses. I started pursing testing out hair vendors in march of 2019; Working as an overnight security guard at the time during those late nights my mind would race on making a bigger move, becoming an owner, one day owing my own business & hopefully in the long run be able to take care of me & my family like a 9 to 5 would. Doing something I had interest in as well as something I personally wear. It’s a good feeling finding some great quality human hair with reasonable pricing & that is who I wanted to become. Looking at the financial side of purchasing good quality human hair just didn’t turn out as best as I dreamed up. Later during the pandemic i had another idea of pursing fashion & that is when I started my business Samone’s Boutique also known as SB for short. High fashion, trendy, fly gals boutique. I thought I love to keep it cute, gals be digging my style when i step out why not. Looking and browsing through different clothes and different styles, the versatility, it became a passion. I’ve always felt my best when making others feel their best & nothing is better than feeling cute & sexy in a nice outfit.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Medical Assistant aside from SB, caring for others and being in the healthcare field is what I have always wanted to pursue as a kid. Getting to know people, making someones day even just by being generous when assisting with a question, making someone smile is a passion for me. I love being helpful, helping others as well as taking care of others. It wasn’t so easy getting to choose of going to school to be a Medical assistant, before going to Medical Assistant school I was at community college taking my pre-requisites to become a Registered Nurse, I got pregnant with my first son & decided to take a faster route and work my way up. It was well worth the working. In life I would say I have taken a couple of risk to see where it will take me in the end & it actually made me overcome my fear of the what if’s. I learned to believe in myself & where you started doesn’t mean that is where you are going to end, change isn’t always bad sometimes change can be good. Samone’s boutique is living proof change is good.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The most fun places in the city are ATV riding in palm springs, Duckpattle boat riding at the Expo Park, the Santa Monica Pier they have the best churros & lastly the Rodium Open Air Market best open air Market.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to shoutout my mom, michael, & my little sister for always believing in me & pushing me to be my best. A special shoutout to my friend Erica for always mentioning me in every way, helping me through this journey & being such an inspiring guider; My boys they are my reasons. Lastly I would like to give a huge shoutout to all my supporters, it means everything to every small business anytime & every time you support it’s a great big deal everything I do for Samone’s Boutique is because of all my fly supporters.
